There are abandoned staircases all over national forests and no one knows why.

That's possible. I'm reading The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life Vol. II. Drunvalo said that the Montauk Project, Philadelphia Experiment & the Mer-Ka-Ba experiment on Mars a million years ago are/were connected. The angels he was in contact with told him the problem would be fixed in 2012. I think they took down the program or our reality to fix the problem for a duration of one second. Those boxes could have been a prelude to the big fix.

That should have been on their list of things to do. I forgot to mention the Mer-Ka-Ba under the Bermuda Triangle.

Ok...time for some rational thought......it's obvious that many of these stairs are remnants of old structures/homes , platforms for horse riding, etc and have been written about by others before...though there seems to be an internet revival of talking abut then.
The others are obviously modern surreal art forms intended to get the very response they are getting from people online and elsewhere. There are some articles online if one cares to look for them.
I recall reading about these over a year go and in conjunction with the Missing 411 tales....since they both concern wooded areas for the most part.

it's obvious that many are abandoned structures and others are newly built for art reasons...but believe whatever you wish..... ;)

I didn't realize people thought of these in any other way but abandoned structures, as my post clearly states from my experience finding strange things in walkabouts in the forests...

It's strange they are still there whilst other building components are not but nothing mysterious about it...

Wow, I have come across something like that before in the forests South of my house, stairs out in the forest...In a forested area, no idea how it got there, a set of stairs...I've walked about in the forests all around my area and in certain parts of the mountains and found strange things randomly...

Once my dog and I were crossing a meadow and the grass was about a meter tall, following an animal trail we found an open patch with a deer skeleton, picked clean...I looked up and hidden in the tall thickets 50 feet away was a barn...

Looked around and saw no other structures, I wouldn't have noticed it if I had not stopped to check out the deer bones...My dog a few meters ahead of me we go to tigate, the barn door is closed and I see a upper window is open...

I open the main door, this barn is about 50 feet square, may be a little bigger, I see random ancient stuff, old craftsmanship, tables, a chair, pictures, an old bike...Then we hear this low hissing sound, then multiple hissing sounds...

It made my skin crawl, it was an eery sound, my dog was a little shaken too and went back to the door...Then I hear movement in the lofted part, it's dark up there I can only hear many things coming out to the edge of the loft right above me...

I was freaking scared, my dog alraeppeady bailed out, he was outside barking, these things were moving into the light from outside, I was backing away but I couldn't move any faster, I was frightened and looking I see what they are, buzzards, four big buzzards and babies...

Those big birds were hissing at me protecting their babies lol...I wasn't scared anymore, inside laughing at myself for getting myself all worked up I left and continued our hike...lol
that first one, cattle mutilation?

That is one of the most unnerving tales I have read in a long time. I don't know what I would do if I came across a set,

I remember seeing a few in the woods a few years ago....even one going down. I'd have thought it a bit creepy had I not been to the very place 40 years before when it was a recently abandoned surface to air missile base.

There were some at both the radar site and the launch site......most of the abandoned stairways I've seen were at former military installations.

I'm a Search and Rescue Officer for the US Forest Service, I have some stories to tell • r/nosleep

Well, gee, I did look at the staircase link and found this:

I have a pretty good track record for finding missing people. Most of the time they just wander off the path, or slip down a small cliff, and they can't find their way back. The majority of them have heard the old 'stay where you are' thing, and they don't wander far. But I've had two cases where that didn't happen. Both bother me a lot, and I use them as motivation to search even harder on the missing persons cases I get called on. The first was a little boy who was out berry-picking with his parents. He and his sister were together, and both of them went missing around the same time. Their parents lost sight of them for a few seconds, and in that time both the kids apparently wandered off. When their parents couldn't find them, they called us, and we came out to search the area. We found the daughter pretty quickly, and when we asked where her brother was, she told us that he'd been taken away by 'the bear man.' She said he gave her berries and told her to stay quiet, that he wanted to play with her brother for a while. The last she saw of her brother, he was riding on the shoulders of 'the bear man' and seemed calm. Of course, our first thought was abduction, but we never found a trace of another human being in that area. The little girl was also insistent that he wasn't a normal man, but that he was tall and covered in hair, 'like a bear', and that he had a 'weird face.' We searched that area for weeks, it was one of the longest calls I've ever been on, but we never found a single trace of that kid. The other was a young woman who was out hiking with her mom and grandpa. According to the mother, her daughter had climbed up a tree to get a better view of the forest, and she'd never come back down. They waited at the base of the tree for hours, calling her name, before they called for help. Again, we searched everywhere, and we never found a trace of her. I have no idea where she could possibly have gone, because neither her mother or grandpa saw her come down.

I don't find ruins strange either......but since many buildings are made of wood and most stairways are built of stone or in my case concrete they'll last long. I've found stone ruins in the woods and really didn't think they were creepy.....just very cool. One of them turned out to be a late 17th century glass foundry.

The mass/density of the stairs could be an issue and the structure it was attached to stays in a parallel reality.
