Evangelical preaching of an all-powerful trickster god creating ufos to make fools of us and get a good laugh classifies as misinformation to me, but you are right when it comes to serious ufo investigation, we don't know everything yet, I'm confident we will eventually and I am sure we won't find any god of tricks pulling the strings...

I don't like the enigma of it all, but is fun to think about the possibilities. I like comparing and contrasting humans against the plethoral backdrop.
I personally experienced something that makes me know that people do have encounters.
I cannot totaly define it, but in my experience, they appear to be people from other worlds with advanced technology. Humanoid for the most part.
