When the Navy looked into it a few years after the incident(s) they said that there were 5000+ people on the carrier alone. Add the crews of the rest of the task force. Too many people involved for them to do anything about it.

Circulate that story, add 15 years, then make a TV show. I’d tend to believe Fravor but who the hell can know at this point.

Projecting religious images to screw with an opponent's head is an idea that goes back a ways. I remember reading about it in connection with the Bay of Pigs - as something that was bandied around but I doubt very seriously and certainly not using holographic projectors. These days if you want to talk about holograms and the military it's all about simulation training and monitoring 'battlespace.' That said I wouldn't be one bit surprised if we learned that some effort was made toward using holographic tech for psyops. Not suggesting that's what happened to Nimitz just pointing out others in uniform have given the idea some attention.

Apart from TTSA I have been thinking about what the US Navy specifically might have to say about UFOs.
    Context is important.

Part of the problem regardless of which branch we're talking about (or even which nation's military for that matter) is the admission that they are powerless to intervene in any way. Luis Elizondo has said as much. When this first broke in 2017 I heard him say something to the effect of locking your house every night and setting the alarm yet waking up to find muddy footprints inside. Nothing's broken or disturbed but is it a threat? Excellent way to put it. Anyone's defense services would be reluctant to admit that they can't do anything about it under any circumstances. In context I think during the Cold War it would have been anathema to make a public statement like that and probably is a major component of the of history of total denial.

Specifically with the US Navy - we correctly think of it as the most advanced and strongest naval presence in history but has been demonstrably suffering from a case of human crapulence. Personalities, money, ass covering. This is why the 7th Fleet has been running their multibillion dollar vessels into all sorts of things. Just because it's out of the news cycle doesn't mean the problem has been totally corrected. Both it and any carrier groups assigned to its area of operations have a number of daunting tasks assigned to them. First line of anti-missile defense and confronting Chinese territorial expansion are two that come to mind instantly. Their training problems reach back more than a decade, probably almost two and just like those huge carriers this isn't something you can just turn around on a dime.

Years of Warnings, Then Death and Disaster: How the Navy Failed Its Sailors

In the current climate the US Navy is in a rush to catch up to public perception; to make that sophisticated machine work as expected. Seems to have been a manpower, training and leadership problem that illustrates the humanity and human foibles underneath all the uniforms and tech. They are still struggling with maintaining the proper level of readiness in the face of the real world missions at hand.

In that context I'd think the Navy would be highly unlikely to gratuitously make anything we'd recognize as a 'disclosure' statement. One more thing to admit inadequacy to. I also think that in light of all that even if the top brass believed (or even knew for a fact) that alien craft have been whizzing around, since they haven't been really bothering anybody and nobody can do much about it that they went back to worrying about the more mundane problems at hand.

Which could be why they are now admitting they don't know what UAPs are?...

I like that analogy, but can it be applied towards alleged alien abductions, you were taken and returned, nothing else out of place, front door is still locked, is it a threat?...

"Although there are facts in the book the TTS Academy team can’t verify, there are many things that are completely in line with what we know to be true."

    Such as...?

Didnt this guy try to scam Bigelow with some fluid, why are you standing behind him?

Does he conveniently muddy the waters for you to sail forwards, or backwards, where ever youre really going?

That little image distraction didn't help ease my disappointment with TTSA, I thought they had some sense, but perhaps all they really are is just an entertainment company...So if and when they make an announcement about those 'precious' meta-materials will Lazar and Corbell will be there hand in hand, and maybe we will even see a Jonathan Reed alien banner waving in the background?...

What I saw was the Navy admitting those three videos were theirs and they couldn't identify what was on them.
They didn't make those statements gratuitously.

To me saying 'UFOs are real' statements are like 'America's #1 best selling truck'. When you really look at it what does it mean?

I'd tell abductees 'down the hall and to the left, this is the ETH room. '

I don't really know what to make of alien abductions but always leave room for doubt. I've often wondered if we are being communicated with and fail to recognize it. Unfortunately that area of interest is a predator rich environment. Probably deserves a different thread if we're commenting on it.

I am very curious to know what the content will be in Season 2 of Unexplained. They beat the three videos we've already seen like a rented mule. Could've been three episodes minus the repetition and drama. Can't imagine they'll lather, rinse, repeat but who knows.

If they cough up more footage timed to make it an integral part of their next season then you can decide for yourself what their motives are.
