Trinity UFO Crash Hoax: "Smoking Gun" Interview, Hidden 20 Years, Is Stake Through the Heart

On May 1, 2023, I presented the fruits of three months of research, publishing abundant documentation demonstrating that the 1945 Trinity UFO crash story is a hoax.

Dr. Jacques Vallee was not persuaded. On May 15, 2023, he issued a 5,000-word public memo that included much generalized indignation, deflection, evasion, contortions of logic, and refutation of at least four straw persons (i.e., things opposite to what I'd actually said) --and also several substantive retreats.

On May 20, 2023, I reported on information never before published: Discovery of a never-published, long-lost recording of a 30-minute conversation with the primary hoaxer, Reme Baca, in which he pitched to a prominent UFO writer a "first hand" story of a childhood UFO encounter featuring the same two boys and the same general locale, but everything else different -- different year (1946), boys engaged in different activity, encountering an entirely different type of crashed UFO under different circumstances; subsequent events diverging, an alien artifact obtained by an entirely different method, etc. The UFO writer did not take the bait.

Less than a year later, the two hoaxers went public with an entirely different script -- the one to which millions of people have now been exposed, primarily thanks to the efforts of Vallee and Paola Harris through their book Trinity: The Best-Kept Secret, and media spin-off coverage.

Great work, Dean! This is the kind of thing that will remove the nonsense and fantasy from a very real phenomenon.
