About a third of the Scriptures is about the future. The OT lengthily describes prophecies. Christ lengthily said he came to fulfill the OT's prophecies, that's how he was legit. He presented his own prophecies to the apostles, prophecies being in the four Gospels. He came back to meet John and asked him personally to write them down with a great deal of details (the Book of Revelation is the ONLY book Christ asked someone to write) for the people to know the future, but you deny we are meant to know them? That we are not here to know them? Let me remind you some verses from Christ himself:
Rev 1:1-3
The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants WHAT must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who HEAR it and take to HEART what is written in it, because the time is near.
These are not some random verses cherry-picked somewhere that suit me. These are the very first verses of the Book of Revelation. THOSE WHO HEAR IT AND TAKE TO HEART WHAT IS WRITTEN IN IT.
Not important? What kind of Christian are you?
Love and knowledge! How can that be opposed, to love people and to know the future? It is because I share the latter that I love people. Warning them is loving them. This is love in action! But love is not just kind words. That's the easy, and sometimes hypocrite, way.
Responsability vis-a-vis others often displays more love than the sweet honey of apparent agreements. Do you know what this means:
Revelation 10:10
I took the little scroll from the angel’s hand and ate it. It tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it, my stomach turned sour.
You speak about love and tolerance. Many words, indeed. I didn't see any in your furor against me. Show me you're the man of your words.
