My nephew, great-nephew actually, says he identifies as black. OK, he's only 22 but my 49 y/o niece does as well. Neither are and she's got blonde hair and blue eyes but I guess you can do that now. Better than deciding you're a furry or something. I have no clue what black people actually make of any of that.
Sometimes I'm glad I'm old and never had to deal with any of that. Can you imagine what it would be like to travel back to say, 1990 and tell people what's going on right now? Speaking as someone who was an adult then I'd be laughing my ass off. We also know several gay couples in our age group who don't know what to make to any of this either.
I see this as proof that we've all been manipulated by the endless media saturation and deliberate control. Sounds crazy but which is crazier ?
