Two Very Good Superhero Shows on Now

I didn't sleep well last night, so I'll probably postpone until I'm fresher.
(Supposedly it's a relatively "low action" episode, which some like and others not.)

Wow, season opener and it's a low action episode?...Is this going to be the tone for season 2?...I haven't watched it yet, was going to do so tonight but if it's a sleeper I'd rather watch something else...

Sorry, but IMDB reviewers are sometimes misleading. Still haven't watched it, but, from Den of Geek:
The emotional stakes of Lois, Clark, Jonathan, and Jordan’s home lives have been raised, while the big Superman-focused action scenes are some of the most spectacular on TV. And from the looks of things, they’re going to get even bigger.

Well I watched it, it was mostly mundane and uneventful...The only interesting part was the final 30 seconds...

I'm at the 32 minute mark right now. (Had to watch before the next episode drops.) I'd say there is a fair amount of "action" though not villain related.
Is the
team of superman
something from the comics or original for TV?

I didn't read many DC comics, however there is a

Team Superman comic from 1999 and before that there were Superman Team-up comics...

The covers you posted point more to superheroes working with Superman. But there was another
Supermen of America formed by Lex Luthor as rivals to Superman, like on the show. On the show, of course, Luthor is not involved.

Oh yeah

It was this team in the comics starting around 1999 but I never read these before, I'm not sure if Luthor is involved or not in these comics...

So who is

the creature coming up from the depths of the earth and how did it get there?...The woman mentioned about something coming through, but coming through what?...Is this Doomsday or something else?...

The Den of Geek writer inferred that that is who that is. He didn't say he had inside sources, though.

I was making a judgment based upon seeing the armored hand punching through rock at the end of the last episode and by the appearance of the creature in the shadows when it was briefly shown in this 2nd episode...

At first I thought it could have been Brainiac in a protective suit coming from another universe until the woman said that its stronger than they could imagine or something to that effect...I was wondering if they opened a portal to another universe and brought something through...

Yeah it's
Doomsday
without a doubt now, so this could be a very interesting story arc because it's likely to lead on to some bigger event, depending on how his backstory unfolds...

It wouldn't be a comic book (live-action) without this:
"Brilliant" humans scheming to control an ultra-powerful, ultra-dangerous entity they know nothing about. :emoji_cartwheel:

All three of us were wrong!

I plan to watch the new episode tonight, but according to those who have seen it, it is really
Bizarro!

I watched episode 3 and

I have 2 complaints to vent, one is that for the first 30 minutes they barely move along the main story, most of that 30 minutes was about their kid's drama...The other complaint is the creepy annoying thing John Henry Irons' daughter does continually throughout the episode...She will just teleport into a conversation just at the right time to try to say something profound towards a conversation she wasnt even a part of...She just pops in out of nowhere and butt into other people's conversations, the writers didn't included her into anything, she was more like an extra with no part in the main story...

So with that out of the way lol, about 28 minutes into it they still had not revealed what the entity is in the caves buuuuut Lois is talking to Clark in their house and she says the word DOOMSDAY...

However it isn't Doomsday lol, it is Bizarro and he looks pretty cool too...q37

They do more than just show him, but sadly just for a few rare minutes...I hope the next episode is more action packed...

Well, considering this is the CW, I doubt it will ever be utterly dominated by the main arc. This network's specialty is drama, even when wrapped inside a sci-fi, fantasy, or superhero package. Even though Smallville episodes seemed to have been more arc driven, it had already been going for years before the CW even existed, and maybe before the CW found itself.

The Flash is laden with relationship drama, while Black Lightning had plenty of family drama. Arrow, less so, I think, but not zero.

I wouldn't be surprised if DC itself explicitly distinguishes between CW (Arrowverse) and HBO Max styles of shows. Makes sense, really.

Yeah the CW does like drama based shows, however being that it's Superman, I am hopeful for a balance...I think the first season did have more of a balance between the inner-personal drama and the main story arc...I enjoyed epsiode 3, I guess I was anxious for them to reveal the entity...
