I wonder what sort of "ordinary object" they are referring to, it certainly does not look like a frisbee...

Nor does it to me buddy. .. I wonder if the Condon whitewashers even considered the possibility of a little corroboration to the pilots story by looking into any similar 'red-UFO' reports at around the same time period, such as this one that involves multiple UFOs being reported by multiple trustworthy witnesses about 600 miles away at the Golf One Launch Control Facility of the Minuteman missile complex, Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota. ... Which features a red UFO? ...

look at some of those headlines, looks like satire, the UFO itself looks very much like a cloud
stock photos are meant for illustration, so its very unlikely this is a real bonafide UFO photo, if you find a copy without watermarks then it would be more believable
clearly a movie prop of some sort, reminds me a bit of the falcon lake CE2 though
I only recently found out about the Phobos 2 Incident, in which the Russian probe allegedly disappeared after spotting a rather large UFO (possibly as much as 20 kilometers in length) while attempting to investigate Mars' moon, Phobos, in 1989.

Regardless of where you sit on the fence with this occurrence, you have to admit it's a pretty significant anomaly!

the phobos UFO was a image transmission glitch that was heavily manipulated to look like a cigar UFO
as for the video, i find it pretty interesting, looks too fast to be something in deep space
Some say its a shadow but that's a pretty big shadow to be casting ?
oh yeah forgot that, the dark object was the shadow of the very phobos asteroid wich the probe was on!
It seems to be representative of those times I have seen a lot of these and they all have outrageous stories headlines to keep the readers interested and buying , one even claimed Aliens had destroyed an entire town in the USA. I think they folded not long after they lost all credibility with that one.

jesus those headlines are cancer
Hi Auggie, that's a great old picture ... do you have any accompanying info? ... I've just had a quick search and can only come up with copies that simply state that it is "an old UFO picture".
Where's it from?... Who took it? etc.
.... Haven't seen it before but it does remind me of a few other old and generally unexplained old photos such as ....

... it's sure great looking, but I have a few reservations about it's authenticity ... mainly because of the lack of info of course, but also because the 'object's' clarity itself seems to be at odds with the slight fuzziness of the rest of the scene.... But of course i'm no expert and would love to know more about this great looking picture. ... Which by the way is another source of doubt in my mind... I mean, it's such a good looking old picture, so why isn't it even more famous than the Trent pictures? ;)

Cheers Auggie.
the first time i saw that picture i thought it was a lamp, now that i look better, it looks more to me to be a ufo shaped smudge in the image

This is the kind of UFO photo that has a lot more gravitas to my mind, ... it has been submitted for official investigation to the governmental debunkers... received the usual brush-off, including the all too oft ridicule of a couple of seemingly erstwhile sober pilots... and then 50 or so years later revisited by more open minded examiners...

ufo - UFOs at close sight: reddish object on photograph in July 1966

Cheers.
i think that this picture was actually taken in the ground due to its unusual angle, and that the object was something thrown at the sky

Sheltie

Fratty and out of touch.

I've been watching a lot of Linda Moulton Howe videos lately and this one stands out in my mind. Sorry if it is not related directly to the original topic. In this one she talks about government stonewalling and the rewards researchers often reap when they have the patience to stay on the trail.

In this lecture she claims to have obtained an official top secret MJ 12 annual report from 1954. She claims the US has lost HUNDREDS of planes in encounters with alien craft since the end the end of WWII. Flight 19 was only the tip of the iceberg, apparently. She further claims several B-36 reconnaissance planes (some armed with atomic weapons) have either been destroyed or "disappeared" over the Arctic during routine missions.

Just curious what 1963's feelings are about Howe's inference, in light of the fact that he is a fellow investigative reporter in the war on govt whitewashing.

Is there video footage of these objects at all ?

No video was taken at the time Auggie, but this was part of the great 1952 UFO wave, and besides Coast Guard Shell Alpert's testimony that the objects were actually flying around before he took the picture, there was another independent witness at the weather station that saw them flying around the sky.... but the official explanation was that they were just reflections of ceiling lights!
.... Personally, I don't know what you think about the picture but to me, I've long thought that if there were ever a case where some kind of atmospheric plasma lights being mistaken for solid UFO's and photographed... then this would be it.

Cheers Auggie.

Hi Sheltie, hope you are well my friend. ... Thanks for the inclusion, I first came across LMH some years ago when I was trying to learn more about the cattle mutilation phenomena ... she came over pretty well and balanced initially, pointing me toward many strange and inexplicable incidents in which she appeared to be intimating that the culprits of these dastardly crimes were a secret US government agency and alternatively it was the doing of ET's, and then to compound the confusion, she then changed tack to strongly imply that it was in fact a nefarious collaboration between the two. And at every turning point she claimed to have some special privy knowledge via un-producible secret agent or big brass deepthroats. ... Which was though not altogether convincing ... ok, And then a few years ago she promoted herself to the main-stage of ufology [so to speak] by not only rehashing a number of old cases [that she seemed to insert herself in] but also started to push many new cases of which she made herself rather preeminent in. .. But the thing is, that some of these cases were clearly 'bunkum being touted as real' ... In which, she is by no means the only culprit of being a little too willing to accept the sensational explanation without applying the required scepticism. [Leslie Keane springs to mind].
And i'm not saying that she is doing this consciously [sensationalising trivialities] in order to sell her books or to boost her earning power on the lecture circuit ... but it can't hurt can it. Also I do believe that she is a very intelligent professional lady that over her long career of journalism has undoubtedly seen and knows a lot more than most about the genre, ... but tbh, for me personally she is one of those proponents of the ETH that is the polar opposite to Oberg, Sheaffer etc who have "never seen a case that wasn't easily explainable mundanely" ... Linda "hasn't seen a case that might have a Earthly origin".... and that is the reason that I always view any of Linda's presentations of 'fact' with a lot more caution than? ..say someone like Michael Swords! .. But I still like the lady, and look forward to watching this video to see if there's something new when I've got the time matey.

... as to the "govt whitewashing" ... yes there can be no doubt that this is, and has always been practiced vigorously by 'the powers that be' and no matter how much people like us just know that it is damned wrong! ... it probably always will be official policy.

Cheers Sheltie.
