Saw something so freaking weird I had to come in and check Flight Aware which was not particularly revealing. Also had a look at Home - Serving the Flight Tracking Enthusiast - ADS-B Exchange which says it'll show military traffic, or at least not filter it out.

Unfortunately a good ten+ minutes passed before I could get in and do this so if it were a plane it might've landed. It was southwest of here and that's directly inline with SWF New York Stewart International Airport/Stewart Air National Guard Base. I saw a brilliantly lit boomerang shaped object about the width of my thumb headed in that direction. No aircraft recognition lights visible whatsoever, no sound. I saw it at the top of the hill I was on and it was at about the height of the midday sun this time of year, but by the time I went through the woods and up onto the next ridge it was gone. Clear quiet night. My dog has to do her thing no matter what, she doesn't care about lights in the sky.

I forgot that yesterday morning while driving to work I saw an equally brilliant but roundish object to the north. These are aircraft with powerful landing lights on, I suspect as part of some military training exercise. At least that's my guess based on nothing other than area history. Haven't seen anything quite so startling in a long time. If any of you had seen these things - and I sincerely wish I could get a decent video - you would be quite surprised. Quite startling. Guaranteed **** like this has accounted for more than one UFO report.

UFO sighting reported in Bradenton Beach

UFO sighting reported in Bradenton Beach

Anna Maria Island is big on tourism, but are they coming from space? Probably not, but a Bradenton Beach police officer spotted a strange incident while on patrol at Coquina Beach on the morning of Nov. 5 that left him scratching his head with far more questions than answers.

“I saw a Coast Guard plane flying over the bay, then I watch them turn back toward the Gulf. I thought what the heck is that as I look up and saw a big black thing in the sky,” Bradenton Beach Police Officer Charles Morose said. “I’m estimating based on the size of the plane in the sky, it was at least the size of a car, or maybe a small aircraft.”

Morose said he thinks the Coast Guard plane must have seen the object because it changed course and came back toward the Gulf, appearing to follow the object. He says after the plane began to follow the object, which was almost stationary when he first observed it, its speed and trajectory changed rapidly.

“That thing had to be moving at least 500 mph,” Morose said. “It just shot off like a rocket toward the horizon and it was just gone. I’m no UFO conspiracy theorist, and I’m not saying it was from space or anything like that, but there was something in the sky and it was hauling butt.”

Morose said while he has no idea what was in the air over Coquina, he can say with certainty it was not a drone or an animal. Morose is in the area daily and knows how drones fly, and is well-versed in birds that live in the area. To him, it’s an interesting encounter with something strange, and will most likely remain a mystery.

Very interesting, I wish I could have seen it as well. Were you just going for a hike or hunting or was it around your home?

How cool is Flight Aware? I wish that is something they had back when I learned to fly. I have mine set to where if an emergency is declared I get a tone & can then track the aircraft. It was also fun to watch inflight a couple weeks ago when I was flying commercial down to FL. I only have the free version but I love it.

I was taking the dog out like I do every morning at 0315 when I have to go to work. So by the time she found the right spots and we came in to do the morning ritual some time had passed. Probably more like 20+ minutes. At that time there were only two flights anywhere around and neither really fit. Flight Aware’s cool - better there as a first stop after seeing something weird than anywhere else.

I really think it’s a heavy transport like a C17. Plenty of them at that airport. Very powerful landing lights, angle, so forth probably just obscured the recognition lights. Literally seen that before. But, in this case it’s really a UFO because I just don’t know what it was

That totally makes sense. I remember when I moved to Bloomingburg (but worked in Ellenville) that I later found out I was near Pine Bush, NY which at one point was dubbed a UFO hot spot. I lived in a house backed up to the woods and neighbors were far away. I always kept my eyes peeled especially in the winter when I used to have a telescope but never did see anything. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that one day before I'm gone that I'll see something.

Researchers hunt for photographer behind famous UFO image

news-hq-calvine-ufo.jpg

The original photograph.

The hunt is on for the individual who captured this image of a strange object in the skies over Scotland 30 years ago.

On August 4th 1990, two young chefs had been walking in the Cairngorms National Park near Perth when they spotted a strange diamond-shaped object in the sky nearby.

Terrified, the men hid behind some bushes to observe the mysterious craft.

A short time later, they heard the sound of an RAF jet approaching. The plane seemed to change course and circle the UFO for a time before returning to its original course.

Keen to take a photograph, one of the men aimed their camera at the sky and took a few snaps. A few seconds later, the object flew upwards into the heavens and was gone.

Convinced that they had seen a UFO, the men passed their best photograph along to a local newspaper, however it was promptly handed over to the Ministry of Defense and was never published.

The image would stay classified, in fact, for over 30 years until it turned out that retired RAF officer Craig Lindsay had broken protocol by stashing a copy of it inside his desk. The image (above) finally made it into the newspapers last year.

Now a team of UFO researchers led by Dr David Clarke of Sheffield Hallam University has been attempting to track down the individual who took the original photograph.

"On the back of the original photo we acquired last year is the name of the photographer, but we have not released this information into the public domain," said researcher Matthew Illsley.

"During our research, though, we have confirmed the man in question did live in Pitlochry in 1990/1991 while working as a kitchen porter at a hotel."

"We have also traced a number of his former colleagues, one of whom says he knew the photographer well during their time together." Whether this individual will even be able to recall any further details, however, remains to be seen.

Using Eduard "Billy" Meier's nomenclature, I think I just saw "Variation 2" of Paul Trent's flying saucer (I know I'm being wise & if this needs to go into a different form I can post it there & my apologies);IMG_9595.jpgIMG_9435.jpg
I was watching Beverly Hills Cop 2 & spotted it.

If it's real, you would think the photographer would be well known (and want to be well known) as well as every news outlet, talk show, Larry King, etc. would want to interview the guy to see if he only took this photo or if there was a whole series of photos. As well as the guy being eager to tell everyone how it unfolded, what was the craft was doing (just hovering, going up, down, sideways, speed, how long was it there for, etc.). Seems like it would look weird in the landing position and have to have extra long landing gear to compensate for the pointed bottom.

We've had back and forth ping pong matches about this very photo before here on AE. Having put on a number of various truck mirrors, to me it's a goddamned truck mirror. To a carpenter every problem's a nail, eh? And no, there is no Master Record of such things and there was no end of dealership installed options that nobody recorded. I had at least two service trucks in the 80s that had what they called California style over under mirrors and I have glanced over at a mirror virtually identical to that a million (and a half) times.

In one of the back & forth sessions I pointed out that the Space Modulator or Deflector Dish or whatever the hell that is is actually cocked at an angle in the pics if you look. Jesus, I could go down in my garage right now and grab a couple except they're rectangular not oval. I'd rather save the debate for things like that Hannah McRoberts photo. That one I admit, is a pickle.

Show us the satellite pics...
No evidence of a hoax was ever found in the Trent photos. a couple of prints off the negative had a line inserted to look like the object was suspended, but it is not in the original negatives. Just because something superficially resembles a rear view mirror doesn't mean that is what it is. The Trent object is also not bilaterally symmetrical. The same problems pertain to skeptics' debunking of the Heflin photos as a model train wheel --it's waaay to large for that --a simple analysis of the perspective shows that, and it doesn;t have the same proportions as model train wheels. Here is Evelyn Trent discussing the UFO that she and Paul saw (It tips on edge --before shooting off; a detail seen in other UFO saucer sightings too):

You'll remember that I saw five UFOs coming from the Trent farm airspace --on the 60th anniversary of that photo being taken --during the UFO festival of 2010.... They were later seen by others.

Here is an exhaustive account of the provenance of the photos:

Well, if debating a case that old was going to actually solve anything it would have by now.

BTW this is the enlargement I was talking about.

Call me pisher but to a guy who had several mirrors that look virtually identical to that I spent years and bazillions of miles glancing over at all day, it looks like a truck mirror to me. That thing looks like the ball & socket mount you adjust the thing with. Sorry, can't help it. But, I am thankful we can have polite chit chat about this.

Just ran across an interesting term in a textbook while reading about the fascinating topic of feline urethral obstructions:

'..... is a diagnosis of exclusion, meaning that it is a diagnosis made after all diseases that might cause similar signs are ruled out'

Diagnosis of exclusion doesn't lend itself to describing an extraterrestrial presence. When you're using it to figure out why your cat howls when it pees that's one thing but ET is an order of magnitude different that would require some pretty specific evidence.
