In the series Stargate SG-1 I recall an episode where they were removing a stargate from solid rock. In another episode they said a stargate survived a meteor impact. They must be extremely well built and designed to last for thousands or millions of years. They must be a galactic commodity and not necessarily constructed by the Annunaki. In order to operate them you need a dialing station. I saw in one episode that there was a huge ruby looking crystal inside of it.

Well ya know this freak who was the Governor of Washington State disappeared when the gulf war was raging, and for three days no~one knew where she was. Later she shows her Grinch like face off from the back of a CH-46 Chinook Helicopter on her way to the forbidden off limits city inside Iraq.

So what can you expect, obviously they have something and only the special people get to know what it is, and obviously it's important enough that this individual managed to worm here way there.
