UFOs: skeptics, disclosure, and contact

Some septics have tuned into this post. They want to keep the door open for the possibility that UFOs might indeed turn out to be non-human technology. Their past biases and ignorance will be very obvious once the truth comes out though. I think there is a real danger of narcissism that can develop among those with a science background; they treat science as a religion and some even have "faith" that aliens exist out in the cosmos (with zero evidence to support the conclusion and the end of the day). UFOs don't require faith.
There is nothing there that hasn't been proffered by UFO researchers for a very long time.

John Greenewald made some excellent points in his last couple of audio podcasts.

Any Reaper video is by definition classified and if a civilian is in possession of it where did it come from?

Where was the NRO during the spate of Chinese balloons, etc and doesn't it seem highly improbable that a number of assets had to have been involved? Or are we really that unprepared?

Why did the other shootdowns instantly fall out of public notice or concern? We still seeing things ?

If Eric Davis' meeting with Admiral Wilson was mentioned shouldn't he be willing to testify under oath to what he's been saying?

There is some core phenomenon at work and whatever it is the only way we'll know about it is when it wants everyone to know. In the meantime we'll amuse ourselves with ..... ibid

At Metabunk:
(red comments, mine)
"1) No-one's reporting flying discs over the USA prior to 1947. (I suspect the "foo fighters" of WW2 are different phenomena).
That is not really true. And often the "discs' are lenticular, not flat. Here is the SternenSchiff of 1851.
(2) In 1947 Kenneth Arnold claims to see UFOs. They are not disc-shaped.
True
(3) A reporter misunderstands Arnold, and coins the term "flying saucer". The "flying saucers" story gets widespread publicity.
True
(4) Within days, other people are reporting "flying saucers", not craft of the shape (or flight characteristics) Arnold described."
This is also true, but the term was used as a catchall for all shapes of UFOs after Arnold's sighting, just as the term "airship" was used before. In fact, in some old articles where an object that is not saucer-shaped is described, the words are in quotation marks, thus it was meant not to be taken literally.

I gave up trying to post at metabunk. Tagged for speculation!! :p
That's all they do over there! Often in a very rude manner.

I predict that Mick West will sniff the air and come around, in the not too distant future. He's a smart guy, he'll figure it out.

This is potentially even bigger then Nimitz encounters. There is CIA whistle-blower, under the protection of Congress, right now talking about UFO crash retrievals going back to the beginning of 20th century:

The link goes to a broke page when I just tried it.

"Appears"... I would still be careful. Weve seen many times on this field that just when the prize is in reach, some trapdoor opens beneath your feet. Apparently NYT, WAPO and Politico declined to run with the story? Why?
