Unexplained Strange Howling Terrify Scottish Island

As Above So Below
What could be roaming Scotland and northern England? If some strange news out of Scotland is confirmed, these unexplained events might be a very unexpected explanation.

Hotel night manager Paul Naylor was conducting his nightly rounds of his Outer Hebrides hotel on August 31st when an eerie noise stopped him in his tracks. Naylor immediately did what any of us would do and pulled out his phone to record the haunting sound:

Naylor and many others believe the sound to be coming from wolves. Wild wolves haven’t been present in the United Kingdom for hundreds of years, having been hunted into oblivion by first the Norman kings and later the British royalty.

Local wildlife experts assert that the howling is too monotone to be made by wolves. Nevertheless, Naylor said that despite the naysayers, he stands by his belief that the howling came from wolves:

It could have definitely been a wolf. It felt eerie — like I was in a horror film. I’m sure it wasn’t a dog. It could have been a wolf – never say never. Although I have never known wolves to be on the island. A lot of people on social media were saying it sounded like a wolf.

Naturally, social media users have engaged in a flurry of speculation about what the source of the eerie howling noises might be. Guesses include large dogs, seals, a werewolf or even a drunk human imitating a wolf.

Wolves have been predicted to make a comeback in Britain, although sightings are rare and largely unsubstantiated. It makes you wonder, though: could wolves have returned to Scotland?

But not by Scottish wolves as there aren't any.

That's what the naysayers are claiming......but as I said it sounds like wolves and the article says they've been sighted. Its the same as the Thylacine......as they are still sighted and could have escaped extinction.

There is a wolf repopulation programme planned for Scotland but its not popular with the farmers. The Thylacine sightings here are usually spotted by tourists and all turned out to be misidentified dogs, so unfortunately like the Thylacine the Scottish Wolf is extinct.

Last wolf in the UK shot in 1680.

Last Scottish wolf died 250 years ago .

Welsh wolves disappeared during Medieval times.

Earlier you said one was sighted in 1888......but then it doesn't have to be a Scottish Wolf. There are other species of wolves in Europe.....and from the sounds of it some have found their way back into the UK.

Records indicate that the last wolf in Scotland was killed in 1680 by Sir Ewen Cameron in Killiecrankie, Perthshire. But there are reports that wolves survived in Scotland up until the 18th century, and a tale even exists of one being seen as late as 1888.

Actually since most wolves can run at 60kph for hours I doubt their paws would be tired at all.....especially if it took them years to get there. So since they are being sighted and now apparently heard it does appear wolves are in Scotland.
