Trump makes shocking admission about Ukraine peace talks after Putin made terrifying threat on call

Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that he spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but acknowledged peace with Ukraine is not on the immediate horizon. On the call that lasted about one hour and 15 minutes, Trump disclosed they discussed the recent drone attacks by Ukraine on Russia's air bases. Kyiv delivered a devastating blow to the Russian air force on Sunday and Putin is now plotting revenge. 'It was a good conversation, but not a conversation that will lead to immediate peace,' admitted Trump.

The president also stated that Putin told him he plans to retaliate against Ukraine after the recent attacks. 'President Putin did say, and very strongly, that he will have to respond to the recent attack on the airfields,' Trump disclosed, without details about whether he pushed back on the Russian leader.

Trump has been vocal about wanting to end all fighting and bombing between the two nations immediately as the death toll continues to rise in the now years-long conflict. 'We also discussed Iran, and the fact that time is running out on Iran's decision pertaining to nuclear weapons, which must be made quickly! I stated to President Putin that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon and, on this, I believe that we were in agreement. President Putin suggested that he will participate in the discussions with Iran and that he could, perhaps, be helpful in getting this brought to a rapid conclusion. It is my opinion that Iran has been slow-walking their decision on this very important matter, and we will need a definitive answer in a very short period of time!'

The Russian tyrant has stayed out of sight since the attacks on multiple air bases in Ukraine's audacious Operation Spiderweb - a top-secret mission some 18 months in the making, showing off Ukraine's capability to stagger the Russian invasion. But an insider warned that Putin 'will hit back at Ukraine' while also 'avenging his underlings who allowed this humiliation to happen.' Putin's revenge reportedly includes stockpiling a massive contingent of battle tanks and ammunition.

The call between the two leaders came the day after the White House announced Trump will attend the annual NATO meeting at the end of June. The president will also travel to Canada in the next few weeks to attend the G7. The Russian-Ukraine war is expected to be a heavy topic of conversation at both events. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been invited to attend the G7 meeting.

Trump's post did mention any possibility of a meeting to discuss the peace process. He has sought to bring Zelensky and Putin together. But, on Tuesday, the Kremlin dismissed the likelihood of a trilateral meeting between Trump, Putin and Zelensky taking place in the near future. 'Well, frankly speaking, unlikely [that it will happen] in the near future,' Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters, according to Russian state media outlet TASS.

Ukrainian and Russian delegations met for the second time in person on Monday in Turkey. There was no breakthrough on peace talks but the two sides did agree to more prisoner exchanges. Zelensky has pushed for a 30-day unconditional ceasefire, which Putin has not agreed to. The two sides are far apart in their asks for a peace deal. The Kremlin wants Ukraine to vow not to be a part of any military alliance (such as NATO); restrictions on the size of its military; wants to keep their occupied regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia; and wants Russian to be Ukraine's official language. The Ukraine wants no restrictions on the size of its military; war reparations and that the international community to refuse to recognize Russia's occupation of parts of Ukraine.

Trump and Putin spoke two days after Ukraine launched a massive drone strike on Russia. It was severe hit for the Kremlin with as many as 20 Russian strategic aircraft destroyed or severely damaged, limiting Putin's ability to conduct long-range attacks. One U.S. defense official told the New York Times the attack showed Ukraine's ability to strike nearly anywhere in Russia, and to destroy warplanes costing $100 million or more with drones with price tags as low as $600.

Ah, so he's tolerating Russian bullshit in the hopes they'll help with Iran. Add that to the list of naive thoughts.

The reason Russians keep nuclear bombers on apron is because they signed up and they are sticking to nuclear non-proliferation treaty which obligest them to do so. So, Ruskies are sticking to their side of the deal by making their nuclear bombers being easy to monitor from satelites. And US is doing the same, many "Bone" bombers are on apron as well.
Now, if then somebody is destroying Russian nuclear assets because Russians are obeying agreements they signed up to, they might pull out and say that other side actually broke the agreement and is using inidrect means to destroy their nuclear assets.
Most likely Ukraine kept this attack secret from both EU and US for the above reason.

Maybe but I wasn't talking about their bombers at all. Yes, I've read that some of those destroyed were derelicts.

Putin claims he can help with the negotiations between the US and Iran regarding their nuclear program. To me that seems a fool's errand as does expecting Putin to be of any help. But better talking than blowing **** up, there's always time for that. We did move assets to Diego Garcia to facilitate that if it comes to it.

Undoubtedly Israel doesn't believe in good faith negotiations. Why should they ? Some of their more recent special operations were thought to be rehearsals for taking out Iranian facilities, some of which would require ground forces. Even B2s with those massive 30K lb ground penetrators are thought to be inadequate.

Iran just needs one push and it will fall appart.

I believe that during the last missile exchange with Israel they spent all they've got and they are heavily low on inventory.

They're touting their new big fat target drone carrier that could no doubt be of some menace. Maybe this would be a good time to clue them in to the ARA General Belgrano

A pity, the old girl had quite the record.

Trump sends National Guard to Los Angeles amid chaos in the streets as protesters clash with ICE agents

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth warned that 'active duty Marines' were on 'high alert' as roving mobs of violent thugs created havoc on the streets of Los Angeles. Hegseth made the bold threat after President Trump ordered 2,000 National Guard troops to descend on the city in an effort to quell days-long chaos amid ICE raids targeting illegal migrants.

'The violent mob assaults on ICE and Federal Law Enforcement are designed to prevent the removal of Criminal Illegal Aliens from our soil... and a huge NATIONAL SECURITY RISK,' Hegseth wrote on X. 'If violence continues, active duty Marines at Camp Pendleton will also be mobilized — they are on high alert.'

The Los Angeles Police Department also responded on Saturday night by warning rioters that the use of non-lethal munitions has been authorized.

'The Incident Commander has authorized the use of less lethal munitions to be deployed,' the LAPD Central Division wrote on X, urging people to 'leave the area' as non-lethal weapons 'can cause pain and discomfort.'

The threats to use force came as activists set cars on fire and threw rocks and flaming projectiles at the authorities.

'We are going to bring the National Guard in tonight,' Tom Homan, President Trump's point man on border security, said on Fox News on Saturday evening.

'We are making Los Angeles safer. Mayor (Karen) Bass should be thanking us.'

But California Governor Gavin Newsom suggested the Trump administration was deliberately inflaming the situation and sending the National Guard would only make matters worse.

Exactly - it begs the question 'why are you here if Mexico's so ****ing great ?'

The answer isn't being an inocent migrant seeking asylum it's purely for taking advantage of the system, one way or another.

ICE readies for assault on five Democrat cities as LA goes into lockdown and Newsom WEEPS over Trump

Donald Trump is set to deploy ICE tactical units to five Democrat-run cities amid the riots in Los Angeles as Gavin Newsom nearly broke into tears while blaming his administration for inciting the California chaos.

The military-style units are set to storm New York City, Seattle, Chicago, Philadelphia and northern Virginia, MSNBC reported. Four of those five are heavily blue cities, while northern Virginia contains the Democrat enclave of Alexandria.

The ICE raids have sparked protests that brought Los Angeles to its knees, as the mayor opted to introduce a lockdown from 8pm to 6am.

The reports came as the California governor delivered a harrowing prediction for the rest of the country Tuesday night in a nationally televised address that blasted Trump's deployment of US troops to Los Angeles.

'Look, this isn't just about protests here in Los Angeles, when Donald Trump sought blanket authority to commandeer the National Guard. He made that order apply to every state in this nation,' Newsom said, as he teared up.

'This is about all of us. This is about you. California may be first, but it clearly will not end here. Other states are next. Democracy is next. Democracy is under assault before our eyes, this moment we have feared has arrived.'

Newsom accused Trump of 'taking a wrecking ball to our founding fathers' historic project' of three co-equal branches of government.

As the governor delivered his teary address, the President was greeting US military personnel at Fort Bragg.

He was in North Carolina to recognise the 250th anniversary of the US Army, but spent much of the speech defending the decision to deploy soldiers against 'animals' and 'foreign enemies' protesting against ICE arrests in LA.

'What you're witnessing in California is a full blown assault on peace, on public order and national sovereignty... with the aim of continuing a foreign invasion of our country. We're not gonna let that happen,' he said.

'We will not allow an American city to be invaded and conquered by a foreign enemy. That's what they are.'

The president went on to call LA 'a trash heap' with 'entire neighborhoods under control' of criminals, adding the government would 'use every asset at our disposal to quell the violence and restore law and order.'

'We will liberate Los Angeles and make it free, clean and safe again,' Trump said.

Inside the secret LAPD club of Gavin Newsom's nightmares... and their evidence a riot crisis was waiting to happen

Los Angeles cops have a private chatroom — and California's Democratic leaders won't like what they're saying.

The Instagram group 'Defend the LAPD' allows officers and commanders to talk freely about what's really going on in the streets of America's second-biggest city, where cops clash daily with anti-government rioters.

The Daily Mail gained exclusive access to the 8,500-member club and spoke to its organizers — and the views they presented were a stark rebuke to Gov Gavin Newsom and other leaders of the Democrat-run state.

Despite what their bosses say, LAPD officers broadly support the Trump administration's deployment of the National Guard to protect federal buildings amid a wave of sometimes violent protests against immigration raids, says the group.

Members also expressed alarm at LA Mayor Karen Bass, a Democrat, for allegedly taking command of their control room, delaying the deployment of officers, and putting federal agents and the public in danger.

They also accused media outlets of one-sided coverage of the protests, by focussing on heavy-handed policing while overlooking the threat that some violent activists posed to cops and the public.

More broadly, they say the city has 'quietly defunded' the LAPD since the George Floyd protests of 2020, and that today's force is understaffed, underresourced, and cannot handle the crisis exploding on the streets.

The revelations come as US Marines head to Los Angeles, as part of a federal strategy to quell the protests against immigration raids, which are a signature effort of President Donald Trump's second term.

US unveils city-destroying nuclear missile after years of secrecy

The United States has unveiled its city-destroying nuclear cruise missile after years of secret development. The first image of the AGM-181A Long-Range Standoff (LRSO) reveals a sleek, stealthy weapon designed to evade modern air defenses, with a range said to exceed 1,500 miles.

It is thought the missile will have an adjustable nuclear yield between 5–150 kilotons, allowing uses ranging from tactical effect to destroying cities. A yield of 150 kilotons is 10 times more powerful than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima in August 1945.

The LRSO is set to replace the Cold War-era AGM-86B and will be carried by both the forthcoming $585m B-21 Raider and upgraded B-52 bombers. Air Force officials confirmed that the LRSO has already undergone a series of successful flight tests is set for frontline service by 2030.

Sinister George Soros anti-ICE 'plot' emerges amid LA riots... as 'paid' foreign agitators are finally exposed

President Donald Trump's claim that 'paid agitators' are wreaking havoc in Los Angeles has raised questions about the protest groups and dark money flows from billionaires that may be behind the chaos in America's second-biggest city.

Speaking with reporters on Tuesday, Trump described some LA protestors as 'paid insurrectionist or agitator or troublemakers,' suggesting they were financed by clandestine groups, which the president did not name.

His comments heightened scrutiny over the protests, which erupted in downtown LA on Friday in response to federal immigration raids and escalated into clashes with law enforcers, property being vandalized and rampant looting.

The masks and other gear worn by some protestors, and trademark riot techniques such as breaking apart curbs to lob concrete at police vehicles, have raised questions about whether experienced agitators are involved.

Online investigators, including Matt Palumbo and DataRepublican, and politicians including Florida congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna have taken to social media to name the groups they claim are behind the protests that led to the violence, and the money that backs them.

They describe a web of connections between the immigrant rights and leftist activists on the streets of LA with such billionaires as George Soros, Neville Singham and even the Chinese Communist Party.

'The protests we're seeing aren't organic - the usual suspects are at it again,' Palumbo, the author of books on Soros and his son, Alex Soros, told the Daily Mail.

'There's a direct line of funding that includes our very own federal government, the state of California and billionaires who have contempt for the nation that enabled their success.'

Soros' group said it does not support the protests in LA and opposes all forms of political violence.

The Daily Mail took a look at the people and groups involved.

The US-based Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) organized some of last week's protests in response to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids that snowballed into violence over the weekend.

The Marxist revolutionaries also played a role in last year's anti-Israel protests that roiled Columbia University. PLS has ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) through Neville Roy Singham, a Connecticut-born tech entrepreneur who operates from Shanghai.

Singham, together with his wife, Jodie Evans, the founder of antiwar group Code Pink, have been investigated by House Republicans for promoting protests, dissent and unrest in the US for their bosses in Beijing.

Singham sank millions of dollars into backing the groups after selling his software company, ThoughtWorks, for $785 million in 2017.

He shares an office in Shangai with Chinese media company Maku Group, which appears to use language often associated with foreign propaganda.

According to a 2023 investigation by The New York Times, Singham previously claimed he did not work with the Chinese government. However, the paper found that a network he owns coproduced a YouTube show with China's propaganda department and worked with a Chinese university to 'spread China's voice throughout the world.'

The outlet's lengthy exposé on his far-reaching money machine, which has steered millions to China-friendly nonprofits from South Africa to Ghana, Zambia, Brazil and beyond.

Luna, who sits on the House Oversight and Accountability committee, said on Tuesday she would turn the screws harder on Singham over his 'funding of a communist group linked to the LA riots and the CCP.'

'IF HE REFUSES TO APPEAR, HE WILL BE SUBPOENAED, AND IF HE IGNORES THAT HE WILL BE REFERRED TO THE DOJ FOR PROSECUTION,' the GOP firebrand and Air Force veteran posted on X.

While there may be financial links between Singham, PSL and the peaceful demonstrations against Trump's immigration crackdown, there is nothing to suggest that those protestors are involved in any of the violence or looting in LA.

The LA-based Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA) is another group that's played a role in the protests that spiraled into face-offs with LAPD and federal agents raiding workplaces across the city.

CHIRLA staged rallies in LA last week to denounce the ICE raids, which were said to be targeting criminals living in the US illegally.

Research by Palumbo and others showed how CHIRLA received tens of million of dollars during the Biden administration - mostly from the state of California, but also $450,000 in grants from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to provide 'citizenship education and training.'

Following Trump's return to the White House in January, DHS cut ties with the group and terminated any further funding in March, including recouping some $101,000 that had yet to be paid out.

The group also received more than $500,000 in 2023 alone from the Tides Foundation, the 'pass-through' body that Soros' Open Society Foundation (OSF) uses to bankroll its progressive causes and activists.

Soros has long been a nuisance for conservatives and a focus for conspiracy theorists, who present the Hungarian-American and Jewish billionaire as a puppet master who exerts control over the global economy and governments.

An OSF spokesperson told the Daily Mail that it was not involved in the LA protests, saying the group does not 'fund, train or direct protestors' and is opposed to 'all political violence, including the use of violence in protests.'

'All our grantees and partners are expected to comply with our values of non-violence and adherence to the rule of law,' said the spokesperson.

A spokesperson for CHIRLA told The New York Post that the group had not 'participated, coordinated or been part of the protests' in LA and had only been involved in a single press event last week.

The rest of the time, members had been attending immigration courts and detention centers as part of their lawful campaign, added the spokesperson.

The Mail also reached out to CHIRLA, PLS and Singham for comment, but has not heard back.

Tulsi Gabbard issues "nuclear winter" warning

Tulsi Gabbard, the U.S. director of national intelligence, published a video on Tuesday warning humanity is "closer to the brink of nuclear annihilation than ever before," which she blamed on "political elites and warmongers."

In her video, posted on X, formerly Twitter, Gabbard said that modern nuclear weapons could "kill millions in just minutes" while a resulting nuclear winter could block out the sun, "plunging the world into darkness and cold, killing crops and starving billions."

Newsweek reached out to the United States Intelligence Community (IC) for comment on Wednesday via telephone outside of regular office hours.

As director of national intelligence, Gabbard has oversight over all of America's IC agencies, including the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and National Security Agency (NSA), making her warning and the graphic language deployed hard to ignore.

The comments come against the backdrop of Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine, which has seen the Kremlin issue a number of nuclear threats, and tension between the U.S. and China over Taiwan, trade and the South China Sea.

Gabbard shared her video on her personal X account, rather than the one she has as director of National Intelligence, suggesting she was making private comments rather than representing the administration.

In the three-minute 30-second video, Gabbard said: "As we stand here today, closer to the brink of nuclear annihilation than ever before, political elites and warmongers are carelessly fomenting fear and tensions between nuclear powers.

"Perhaps it's because they are confident that they will have access to nuclear shelters for themselves and for their families that regular people won't have access to. So it's up to us, the people, to speak up and demand an end to this madness."

Gabbard began by describing a recent visit to Hiroshima, one of two Japanese cities hit with nuclear weapons by the United States in 1945.

She said: "This attack obliterated the city, killed over 300,000 people, many dying instantly while other died from severe burns, injuries, radiation sickness and cancer that set in in the following months and years."

Gabbard said that modern nuclear weapons can be substantially more powerful than the ones deployed on Hiroshima and said they could "kill millions in minutes" before sparking a nuclear winter "with smoke and ash completely blocking the sun, plunging the world into darkness and cold, killing crops and starving billions."

While Gabbard didn't mention any country by name, her warning came against the backdrop of tensions between the U.S. and Russia over the war in Ukraine, with a bipartisan group in the Senate reportedly pushing for tougher sanctions on Moscow.

Before joining the Trump administration, Gabbard had been accused of spreading Russian state propaganda, which she vehemently denies, with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton labeling her a "Russian asset."

She previously stated that then-Vice President Kamala Harris was the "main instigator" of the Ukraine war and said the assassination of Iranian Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani in 2020 during Trump's first term was in violation of the U.S. Constitution.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said in her video: "I recently visited Hiroshima in Japan and stood at the epicenter of a city that remains scarred by the unimaginable horror caused by a single nuclear bomb dropped in 1945, 80 years ago. It's hard for me to find the words to express what I saw, the stories that I heard, the haunting sadness that still remains. This is an experience that will stay with me forever."

Ron Pilipkowski, editor-in-chief of MeidasTouch, shared Gabbard's video on X, adding: "Tulsi Gabbard repeats Putin's talking points today, releasing an unhinged video where she claims that 'political elites' want a nuclear war with Russia because they have sophisticated bomb shelters that will help them survive it."

Rebeccah Heinrichs, a senior fellow at the Washington, D.C.-based think tank the Hudson Institute, also shared the video on X: "It was good and necessary that the US dropped the bomb. We should not apologize."

It remains to be seen whether Gabbard will repeat her claims in an official capacity.

Tensions between the U.S. and both China and Russia are likely to remain high over the coming years with Beijing. Chinese President Xi Jinping has repeatedly vowed to bring Taiwan under his government's control.
