Astonishing moment Chinese warship cuts off US destroyer and misses it by 150 YARDS in Taiwan Strait during US and Canadian drills... as Beijing accuses THEM of 'deliberately provoking risk'

This is the astonishing moment a Chinese warship comes within 150 yards of an American destroyer in Taiwan Strait, just days after the Pentagon said it would not stand for 'bullying' by Beijing. Footage obtained by Global News, shows a People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) warship cut across the bow of a U.S. guided-missile destroyer on Saturday while it was transiting the Taiwan Strait. USS Chung Hoon and HMCS Montreal had also been transiting the strait on a rare joint mission when a PLAN warhsip cut across the bow of Chung-Hoon. According to Global News, the Chinese warship made a course to cut across the destroyer and had been advised over the radio by the U.S. crew to alter course. The commander of the HMCS Montreal told Global News he believes the incident was 'clearly instigated by the Chinese.'

Russia is spending surprisingly little on its war on Ukraine

Russia's invasion of Ukraine has come at a steep geopolitical price and tens of thousands of people have died, but a new analysis by the Economist suggests the country is actually spending a small amount on the war effort.

The direct fiscal cost of the war — spending on soldiers and machines — is estimated to be about 3% of Russia's GDP, or roughly $67 billion a year, according to the report. That figure comes from a comparison of Moscow's pre-invasion spending forecasts for defense and security with what it actually spent.

By historical standards, the current war pales in comparison. The Soviet Union during World War II, for example, spent about 61% of GDP, and the US at the same time put about 50% of its GDP toward the conflict.

However, 3% is substantially higher than the 0.4% of GDP the Soviet Union spent on its war on Afghanistan.

One reason for the relatively low spending on Ukraine is political, as the government has repeatedly called the war a "special military operation," which could preclude using an exorbitant percentage of the GDP.

There are also economic reasons. Printing additional cash to fund the war would push inflation higher and weigh on Russia's citizens. Saddling banks with war debt could do the same, and both options in turn could harm Vladimir Putin's political aims.

Plus, the technology underpinning armed forces today is more advanced than ever, which means militaries require fewer people and machines for a war effort.

To be sure, the war has resulted in widespread sanctions that have reshaped global oil flows and trade, and cut into Russia's energy supremacy. Western nations have barred or boycotted Russian commodities, which has pushed Moscow to seek alternative destinations for its oil and other goods.

I don't know where this guy gets his info but its completely new to me:

View: https://youtu.be/wFhj5ECXE1w

He doesn't cite any sources for where he is getting his information. I am not sure that conditions in Russia are as rosy as he has been making out, but many analyses are suggesting that the Russian economy is much more resilient to Western sanctions than western leaders had hoped, which raises the question of what they are even for.

Perhaps they are to impoverish the plebs in western countries, more than the Russians.

Its more interesting as it is opposed to the mainstream news. Probably there is only a grain of truth.
Germany's economy suffered quite badly as a a result of Ukrainian war.

'Catastrophe' fears as major dam is blown up near Kherson: Ukraine blames Russia as explosion causes massive breach, sparking floods and putting nuclear power plant at risk

Russian news agency Tass quoted an unspecified Russian government official as saying the Kakhovka dam had 'collapsed' due to damage. Ukrainian authorities have previously warned that the dam's failure could unleash 18 million cubic meters (4.8 billion gallons) of water and flood Kherson and dozens of other areas where hundreds of thousands of people live, as well as threatening a meltdown at a nearby Russian-occupied nuclear power plant. It was confirmed by a top advisor that President Volodymyr Zelensky will urgently convene his Security Council on Tuesday after an explosion at the Kakhovka hydroelectric dam in the south of the country.

Dutch spies 'told CIA that Ukraine planned to blow up the Nord Stream gas pipeline three months before it exploded'

Dutch military intelligence warned the CIA of a Ukrainian plan to blow up the Nord Stream gas pipeline three months before explosions damaged the undersea system.

The Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines, built to carry natural gas from Russia to Germany, were rocked by underwater explosions on September 26.

The Netherlands was one of the key stakeholders in Nord Stream along with Russia, France and Germany.

The US spy agency then urged Kyiv not to go ahead with the operation, according to the Dutch NOS public broadcaster in collaboration with German broadcaster ARD and national weekly Die Zeit.

The CIA then warned Ukraine 'after receiving an alarming report from the Dutch Military Intelligence Services (MIVD) which heard about the plans via a Ukrainian source,' NOS said.

If the CIA was really behind it, this is merely deflection. But if Ukraine actually did it, was the US supposed to stop them somehow?

If Biden knew beforehand that Ukrainians were going to destroy that pipeline I think he would not try to stop them...

I would like to know what will it take for the US to consider this war over, for our government to stop funding and providing military equipment? Better yet, what will it take for the Ukrainians to call this war done and over?...

Putin threatens that Ukraine war could turn NUCLEAR and warns 'in the event of a Third World War there will be no winners, including America'

Vladimir Putin has threatened that the war in Ukraine could turn into a nuclear conflict, warning 'there will be no winners, including America' in a Third World War.

The despot's threat to escalate his invasion comes as Russian forces continued their endless assault on Ukraine by firing cruise missiles at the southern city of Odesa overnight.

The attack, launched from the Black Sea, killed at least three people and injured more than a dozen others in a strike that damaged homes, a warehouse, shops and cafes, the regional state administration said.

Amid Russia's response to Ukraine launching their much-anticipated counteroffensive, Putin, speaking at a meeting with Russian war correspondents in Moscow yesterday, said: 'The United States pretends not to be afraid of an escalation of the conflict in Ukraine, but sane people there clearly do not want to take this to a Third World War.

'In the event of a Third World War, there will be no winners, including America.'

His comments come as Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko revealed that his country had started to receive tactical nuclear weapons from its ally Russia.

In 1990, as the archives show irrefutably, US and Germany repeatedly promised Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev that Nato would not move "one inch eastward" when the Soviet Union disbanded the Warsaw Pact alliance. Nonetheless, US planning for Nato expansion began in the early 1990s, well before Vladimir Putin was Russia's president. In 1997, national security expert Zbigniew Brzezinski detailed the Nato expansion timeline with remarkable precision.

China demands Britain hands over the Falklands to Argentina... as Beijing continues to threaten Taiwan

China has demanded Britain hand over the Falkland Islands to Argentina and called on countries to abandon 'colonial thinking' – all while Beijing continues to threaten Taiwan with an invasion.

The Chinese ambassador to the United Nations Geng Shuang accused the UK of playing 'power politics' by keeping The Falklands, known as the Malvinas in Argentina, under British rule.

The Falklands were the subject of a short but brutal war after Argentina invaded in 1982. Britain drove out the invaders after dispatching a naval armada, but the issue has never been considered settled in Buenos Aires.

'The issue of the Malvinas Islands is a historical legacy of colonialism,' Mr Shuang said, according to South China Morning Post. 'Although the colonial era has passed, hegemonism and power politics that are in line with colonial thinking still exist today.'

Failing to mention that China has threatened to annex Taiwan by force if the island's government does not to submit to Beijing's demands, Mr Shuang said colonial thinking has a 'serious impact' on international relations.

He added that it also 'seriously damages' the sovereignty, security and development interests of the countries involved. 'The international community must remain highly vigilant and resolutely resist this', he said.

China is the world's foremost colonial power in the present.
