'Russia is trying to wipe Ukraine off the face of the earth', says Zelensky as missiles hit multiple cities, causing carnage across the country as Vladimir takes revenge for Crimea bridge blast

Vladimir Putin unleashed revenge strikes across the whole of Ukraine this morning as missiles rained down on the capital Kyiv, the central cities of Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia and even far-western Lviv after an explosion crippled the Kerch Bridge at the weekend. At least eight people were killed and 25 wounded in the Kyiv strikes alone as videos and images from the city showed fires burning and dead bodies lying in the streets. Footage from Dnipro showed what appeared to be an apartment block in flames, suggesting a high number of civilian casualties. President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking as the strikes were ongoing, accused Russia of 'trying to wipe us off the face of the earth' as his defence minister vowed Ukraine's courage wound never be broken by 'terrorist' strikes. The bombardment appears to be the opening salvo of a revenge operation that Putin pledged to carry out at the weekend after an explosion partially destroyed a bridge connecting occupied Crimea to Russia. The Russian despot has blamed the strike on Ukrainian special forces and described it as 'terrorism', though Kyiv has not claimed responsibility.

.
My guess as to the most likely response is a stand off conventional strike against a major Ukrainian city

In a televised interview snippet, Putin mentions that "citizens of the Russian Federation and foreign countries were involved in the incident, they helped in the preparation of the terrorist attack".

According to the article; "Mr Bastrykin responded to Mr Putin by saying that "citizens of the Russian Federation and foreign countries were involved in the incident, they helped in the preparation of the terrorist attack"."...

I don't know who is 'Mr. Bastrykin'...

An earlier paragraph:

"In a 33-second video posted by the Kremlin, Mr Putin was filmed talking to Alexander Bastrykin, chairman of the Russian investigative committee, in his office about an explosion on the 12-mile bridge that connects Crimea to mainland Russia."

FSB reveals X-ray of '23-ton bomb that blew up Crimea bridge' as eight men are arrested and accused of helping Ukrainian spies carry out attack

FSB reveals X-ray of '23-ton bomb that blew up Crimea Bridge'

The FSB claims Ukrainian spies orchestrated a months-long operation to ship the device - disguised as plastic sheeting - across four countries before blowing it up on the bridge on October 8. They say it began its trip in Odesa in early August before being taken to Bulgaria, and then on to Yerevan in Armenia. From there, they say a truck took it across Georgia and into Russia, where it was diverted to Simferopol, in occupied Crimea. While making that journey, the FSB says the struck detonated - crippling the main link between mainland Russia and southern Ukraine. Kyiv has not accepted responsibility for the attack and called the FSB allegations 'nonsense', while others pointed out the X-ray does not match the truck seen driving over the bridge. However, FSB images of a different truck - which they say did the Georgia leg of the trip - do appear to resemble the X-ray.

Its their own fault. They should had expected something like that and inspected every truck more carefully.

The Foreign Minister of Ukraine was pranked by a fake US Ambassador. He revealed that Ukraine was behind several terrorist attacks and that they have to force the EU because of “sanctions fatigue”. Ukraine leaders are not just unhinged, they are stupid.

Fears Putin is preparing to move to full war footing and detonate a nuke over Black Sea as 'General Armageddon' begins evacuating 60,000 people from Russian-held Kherson amid Ukrainian advance

Vladimir Putin is due to hold an emergency meeting of his security council today amid fears he will try to escalate his war in Ukraine as the occupied city of Kherson looks set to fall. Within Russia, there is speculation that Putin could declare all-out war - handing him powers to close the borders and declare martial law - while in the West fears are growing of a nuclear show-of-force after UK defence minister Ben Wallace was summoned for last-minute talks at the Pentagon yesterday. Experts have previously speculated that the Kremlin could conduct the first open-air test of a nuke since the 1960s - possibly over the Black Sea - to demonstrate its huge but ageing stockpile of warheads still works, and to intimidate Kyiv and the West into some kind of peace deal favourable to Moscow. Those fears are being driven by the fact that Sergei Surovikin, Putin's new top commander in Ukraine, appears to be laying the groundwork for a retreat from the southern city of Kherson - which would be the most-humiliating loss that Putin has yet suffered.

I think that's a pure media selling fantasy by some clever editor keen to cash in on a good conspiracy theory with extra advertising.

Putin doesn't have that much control over Russia. There is a limited amount of democracy within Russia as widespread protests and even sabotage acts had shown. Russia is not China. Somebody inside his inner circle would kill him if he did all that's listed above.

Russia 'suffers deadliest day of invasion yet with nearly a THOUSAND troops killed' as video shows panic-stricken soldiers fleeing on armoured vehicle which flips as it speeds away from Ukrainian attack

Nearly 1,000 Russian soldiers have been killed in a single day in Ukraine, Kyiv has claimed, marking the deadliest day of Vladimir Putin's war since his troops invaded the country eight months ago. Ukrainian forces have been making gains across Russian-occupied areas, with fighting intensifying in the country's east and in the southern city of Kherson. In a blow to Putin's invasion, 950 Russian soldiers were killed on Sunday, pushing his force's death toll up to at least 71,200, Kyiv has claimed. And in yet another example of the incompetence of Putin's forces, video (left) shows panic-stricken Russian soldiers fleeing a Ukrainian attack on an armored vehicle - only for it to flip over and fling the troops into the air.
