Check out the wedge of Fog and dense clouds right down on the deck from Shawnee this morning. This is the Arctic front.Notice how the dense cold air is shaped like a wedge. 50 degree difference in minutes to 26 degrees with freezing rain most the day, all sorts of limbs breaking around town with power outages, my trees are looking good and nothing on the ground yet keep my fingers crossed one of my big pecans trees dont break, and thing is were getting more in the morning making it round two of freezing rain, might have to break out my coffee percolator for the stove.

Lost power for about 4 1/2 hours, not lookin forward to another .5 inch of freezing rain tomorrow hopefully it`ll be sleet instead.

It's never been this warm in February since I've lived in this region...February is usually the coldest month, I may have to mow my grass come Sunday, the grass is green and growing...

The last couple of days we have had 4 bouts of freezing rain, freezing fog, sleet, the streets are finally clear but there is still a 1/4 inch of ice on all the trees and everything else, but it`s melting pretty good now. they say its gonna be in the 60`s on my day off sunday. cant wait

Bomb cyclone - called Winter Storm Riley - heads for the Northeast, bringing hurricane-level winds, wet snow and torrential rainfall
  • Deemed the Nor'easter, the mega storm could become a 'bomb cyclone' by falling at least 24-millibars in atmospheric pressure in 24 hours
  • A sudden pressure plummet on Friday is expected to hit the Atlantic coast leading into Saturday
  • Power outages are expected and flight delays will be numerous from Chicago all the way to Boston
  • High wind warnings have been advised for an over 900 mile stretch from northern Georgia to southern Maine
  • With a full moon the tides will be their highest and could potentially cause massive flooding along the east coast
  • The West Coast won't escape mucky weather conditions as a separate storm is predicted to hit late Thursday and into Friday
