The temperature tonight is dropping to 18 degrees, no precipitation but the coldest so far this season...I've got the house at about 72 degrees with 45 percent humidity...

light rain and mild. most of the snow that fell the other day is gone. I've the thermostat set for the week, for heating. 62 degrees after 9:00pm 'til 6:00am when it warms the house interior to 65 degrees. humidity set for 50 percent. our house is well insulated. truly, at in house temps of 72 degrees we'd be walking around in our underwear. again truly, at our age not a pretty sight.

Been snowing overnight and all morning. Not really sticking

Had just enough time yesterday to finish the lawn cleanup and winterize the bike. Made it in under the wire. Just

It was -31c with the windchill yesterday. That's -24F and we have about 3 feet of snow. My car doors are frozen shut because the night before the deep freeze we had freezing rain fall for hours. It's going to be -20 or lower all week and we are going to get another 5cm of snow today.

Looks like we will be getting our first snow forecast to start around 9am tomorrow morning...It rained all night last night and into these morning hours, heavy rains too...We had unusually warm temps the last few days but its dropping off to freezing tonight and through the coming week...All that rain this morning must have been soothing, I slept in and just woke up a few minutes ago lol...

We had a temp of -7 yesterday but it has already plummeted to -31 and is going to remain around that temperature for the next 7 days. We will be getting 7 centimeters of snow today.

All that work for nothing. lol

It's winter now for sure. 14 degrees F and the wind howling. This could certainly suck more, but it could suck less too.

Why did he wait so long before sending in the National Guard to help those trapped people?...

'Why was it so important to drive through such a snowstorm?': Democrat Virginia Gov. Northam blames DRIVERS for getting trapped on I-95 for 30 hours as he attempts to dodge blame
  • Virginia Governor Northam blamed drivers for being out on the roads on Monday when a pile up lead to 50 miles of Interstate 95 being stopped with some drivers being stranded for nearly 30 hours
  • 'I am getting sick and tired of people talking about what went wrong,' the governor said in an interview
  • The outgoing governor said his office warned drivers to stay home and said people should be grateful the emergency responders who fought through the snow 'I'm proud of the way Virginia responded to it'
  • I-95 was finally cleared on Tuesday evening but officials continue to urge drivers to stay off the roads
  • Northam was criticized for failing to deploy the National Guard as travelers were left without food and water
  • Meanwhile, travelers grew furious as their woes weren't answered and emergency personnel were not coming to their rescue, and Northam tweeted: 'Sunlight is expected to help @VaDOT'
  • The Guard was eventually deployed on Thursday after the governor declared a state of emergency
  • A day after the crash, people were wondering if gov-elect Glenn Youngkin could be sworn into office before he was originally scheduled to on January 15 as they call Northam an 'embarrassment of a governor'

Twenty-two people DIE as epic snow storm leaves 125,0000 cars stranded in Pakistan: At least 10 children among dead who froze to death or asphyxiated on car fumes trying to keep warm on road to mountain resort town

Police said most people had frozen to death in their cars but that others may have died from asphyxiation after turning on their vehicle's heaters to keep warm. Eight of the fatalities were from the family of Islamabad police officer Naveed Iqbal, who died alongside his wife and six children. Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said the military had been mobilised to clear roads and rescue thousands still trapped near Murree, around 70km northeast of the capital, Islamabad. More than four feet of snow fell in the hillside town overnight on Friday, trapping tourists and blocking all incoming traffic the next day. The Punjab province chief minister's office said the area had been declared a 'disaster area' and urged people to stay away. Soldiers, including a special military mountain unit, were called in to assist rescue efforts and had freed thousands of vehicles by Saturday morning, though thousands more were still stuck in the area.

It's 16°F out, with wind chill at 1°F.
I was going to walk to the supermarket, but realized how dumb that would be. I'll wait until tomorrow.

Yeah the weather is pretty weird. We are going from the average temp of -37C for over a month to 3C tomorrow and for a few days it will be nice before we fall back in to a deep freeze again.
