What type of device do you mainly use to access the forum?...

For posting I use my Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7" tablet...

When I'm working on the software for the forum I use my Toshiba laptop to remote connect to the forum server...

I never thought I would have much use for a tablet until I bought my S2 over a year ago, I love using this tablet, first one I ever bought, it's still in perfect condition, not a scratch on it lol...

my main access right now is my Dell laptop. But. I'm bogged down with android devices. in the future, I will be using the laptop less and less as my phone and tablet and ps4 do pretty much everything I do online.

Ever seen one of these?

Yup. This one isn't mine, Mine isn't in that great of a condition. And to boot that. No phone carrier on earth supports them anymore. You have to mod them just to get them to function. (no, this isn't the phone I use,) This thing mostly sits in the little nook under the glass on the coffee table.

But. Back in the day. This was the most awesome phone you could have. Several years before smart phones. :)

This is my actual phone,

Moto X play.
It's not the finest out there. But it does what I need it too :)

Between work and home a bevy of Apple, Samsung, HP, and Dell devices.

But I probably spend most of my "free" time peering into a Galaxy S7.

My phone is a Galaxy S5, an older phone but works great, I see no need to get a new phone every time a new one comes out like so many consumers do...Same with my laptop, it's 5 years old and works great, I've upgraded the OS but same hardware, no need to treat these various devices as disposable just for the sake of having the latest model...

Iphone. Like them a lot :)
Diva, I have an old Nokia and it still works perfectly
Those Nokia phones were expensive when they first came out, they were designed tough. I saw a youtube video where a Tank ran over a pile of them, Some of them still worked fine afterward.

I am an insomniac, and this little device is an insomniac's best friend. I am yet to run it through a network packet analyzer to see if it is really turned off when you supposedly turn the microphone off. So I unplug it being the paranoid bugger I am. But ignoring the big brother aspect of it.
I lay in bed never sleeping and talk to the stupid thing all night without having to move...
Things that I have found to work So far are...

OK Google
  • What time is it
  • Set alarm to 6:00 am
  • Wake me in 30 minuts
  • Cancel all alarms
  • How long till next alarm
  • Whats on for today,
  • Set Reminder (then it prompts you for what)
  • Play Jailhouse Rock
  • Play Elvis
  • Play Enya
  • Play Dark Ambient Music
  • Play Heavy Metal Mix
  • Pause Music
  • Resume Music
  • Repeat track
  • Play Last track
  • Skip Track
  • Set Volume to 6
  • Lower Volume
  • Increase Volume
  • What track is this.
  • How long till end of track (in the case of things like Dark Ambient or Rain sounds)
  • Lots more, like...How Hot is the Sun
  • Who is Alice Cooper married to
My next hack (actually I might look at this this weekend) will be to get one of the google home bluetooth globes...
You can fit one to your room and say things like. OK Google, dim Bedroom Light
Pull it apart and hack the electronics to instead of turn on or dim a light, control my home stereo in the lounge room. I know you can buy Bluetooth add on speakers but they don't sound as good as my stereo.

Yep so do my phone and tablet, I only use Android, but the sensitivity of the device is amazing. I can be lying huddled under the blankets with my eyes and beak just poking out, with my back to the device which is on my bedside table. And the music quite loud. And it still responds. Plus the sound quality is pretty darn good too given the size of it. I am determined to hack it though, don't like the monopoly on what it can talk too. Give me time, I will sus it out.
