My wife has a friend who calls. When she does you are looking at an hour long monologue.

My wife is in a constant cloud of phone calls with her family. It's a network NORAD should study.

What about the drunk dialers ? You got some #s that show up on caller ID that you don't answer after a certain hour ?

We get calls from Middletown PA which are always garbage. I block them constantly but they must own a thousand numbers. It’s galling to say the least.

My mom used to unhook the phone after 9 pm, much to the irritation of me and my sisters. This was pre-cell phone so landline was all we had. She never would tell us why she did it either. Finally, years later my youngest sister confessed that it was because my stepdad's sister was an alcoholic and loved to call her brother at night when she was sloshed. Stepdad was a bigwig college professor and thoroughly embarrassed at how his sister wasted her life.

Eyeglasses. Been wearing them since I was 9. I've got the same pile of old glasses anybody who wears them has. Sometimes they feel great and then after a short while give you headaches that get even worse after you add up how much you wasted on them.

So a few years ago I found a frame that was absolutely perfect. I have two pairs that are seamless bifocals, one is dedicated sunglasses the other changes in the sun. Sunglasses because a car window prevents the other glasses from turning dark. I got safety glasses and contacts too - all from Sears Optical. Well, that's done and over with. They lasted quite a while at least.

How Pearle Vision and LensCrafters stay in business is beyond me - they are literally 50-100% higher than anything else. I hate Walmart but have to admit they have their act together, at least the local one does. The first two idiots want $200 for an eye exam including contacts, Walmart is $99. I'll buy whatever contacts they offer no problem but they don't have any frames for me.

You hate it when the absolutely perfect frames you've been wearing are no longer made. Times are changing and Amazon will be delivering the closet match I can find today. I have all the specs and measurements. At least returns are easy if they're not right, but I just had a hard time believing that a giant like Walmart couldn't just order what I wanted. Instead they are sort of stuck with whatever they are sent. Frustrating. I used to have a magic insurance card I could wave at Sears and never pay a red cent. Wish I still had it.

This 100%. My head is just a wee bit larger than average so most frames don't fit me. Last pair I had came from Zenni optical and their online sizing thing was surprisingly accurate. My vision has changed to where I can get by without glasses 99% of the time so I don't worry about it these days.

As I understand it Walmart optical is practically a separate company, or at least around here they are. In our stores, the doctor is a contractor and not an Evilmart employee. There were some things that Sears actually did right, optical was one of them.

They seem to have their act together so far. I'll see their optometrist Friday.
I got my frames from Amazon and they are virtually identical to what I have now. Very close, not ideal but it's what I can get. You have to get into the sizing printed on the temple.
