You hate it when:

express concern for people like my friends and family who are obese

Not sure that anything you say makes a difference. I have a close friend who is morbidly obese and has been suffering for it. Another just had serious trauma yesterday and it's definitely a factor. It's like alcoholism or drug addiction, words alone aren't going to work.

Fratty and out of touch.
I hate it when I'm at the grocery store and I see a sign that says "buy one, get one free" and I'm all excited because it's for some expensive item that I normally buy anyway and, of course, there's only one left on the shelf.

I hate it when I grab the poopy shovel that I leave leaning on a tree out on the poopy trail without looking first - it was covered with slugs and so was my right hand. Bleeeech.

I hate it when police come to my door asking about "shots fired," which just happened less than 10 minutes ago.
The police stopping by is not the problem in and of itself, but the reason why they stopped by.

And where I live, there is no such thing as target practice.

My neighbor consistently throws food outside his kitchen door for the wild animals to eat...It doesn't matter what kind of food it is and doesn't matter if it's leftovers from a meal or refrigerated food that has gone bad, out the door it flies into the grassy area a few feet from that kitchen door...He lives far enough away down the road from me that I dont see it or smell it but there's a lot more wild animal traffic in our neighborhood because of it...Coyotes and raccoons come around more often naturally and it makes for a dangerous situation which I've tried to explain to him but ignorance and old habits prevail...Sigh, I digress...

...
I lived in an apartment complex where a neighbor put bread out for the birds and cat food out for the feral cats. I remember one day walking by the bush where the cat food was and there was a baby skunk eating away. The next day a bigger skunk came. We had a cold winter so there were little decorative boxes under plant pots so that the apartment management wouldn't complain about giving the feral cats shelter. One day I walked by and there was a huge possum in one of the boxes, it't tail sticking out of the opening.

I bought a trap and we trapped the cats and took them to a vet that would spay or neuter them and give them their shots and then after 24 hours we would set them free. It was something that a lot of vets were willing to do in the Dallas area. The vet school even had a couple of acres that the students took care of where people could bring stray cats. They were used to train the students about illness and spaying etc.

The only reason the population rose at our apartment complex is because of reprobates who would move out and leave their cats to fend for themselves. And one family actually left a puppy in a crate next to the dumpster! A woman found it not long after it was left and adopted it.

Even in a city it isn't a good idea to put food out for wild animals.

I hate it when I ask a specific question from a manufacturer about a product and get a generic answer I already had from a 'product support specialist.' He's just handing out answers froma menu, the one I got looked good enough. So much for support.

And while we're at it, let's bitch a little about cordless tool manufacturers changing their gadgets all the time and losing interoperability between different generations. A pity there isn't the equivalent of a USB or Lighting like standard for those things.

Remember when flip cell phone chargers were totally proprietary and landfills began to fill with them? I think that had something to do with the standardization. More please.

Unfortunately, most support people seem to be generic employees working from a menu of answers. It often takes some doing to get to someone with actual technical expertise. And even this is not always possible.

To tack on to your complaint, with many companies, it is extremely difficult to contact a local outlet or a specific department in a specific location. Best Buy is an example; any number you call goes to a customer service person, located who knows where. Fortunately, the last time I had this predicament I managed to convince the person to contact the department herself for me and have them contact me.

I used to deal with a supplier of commercial power systems. Pretty sure it was Oneac and they were in northern NJ. I could call and get a for-real electrical engineer on the phone and in one instance, the man drove to White Plains to assist with a problem.

Now you call a toll free number and a young person living in an archipelago happy for the call center job will guide you through whatever doc they have in their collection. Progress.

It’s total BS when people get pets and then when they move away they put the animals out on the street. When we adopted our most recent cat I was reading the biographies of these animals. Most were found wandering in the outdoors or people dropped them off at the shelter. “They could no longer take care of the animal.”

How much care does it take for a cat? You feed it cat food and you put a litter box down and the cat does it’s business. You don’t even have to take it outside. People really rile me up with this kind of behavior.

Don’t get a pet if you aren’t going to see it through to the end.

I hate it when you go to a website for support (like Amazon or Roku) and you can't find a phone number or chat box to talk to a person. Amazon does have that but it is well hidden. Roku on the other had sends you to their forum where users provide the help! So the dog chewed my remote and I could not order one on their website because they only want to sell the fancy ones that clean your sink while you watch television for XXX! dollars. I went to walmart to get one and they were out but the girl said I could download an app. There are 3 or 4 apps and only one actually works without having to pay for Roku Premium. I recommend MatthewFowler Software. That one is simple and actually works without a ransom.

I hate dealing with HP consumer products. Dell is a close second. No real problem with either product, it's just all the crap they load them with. Wife's laptop choked on a huge Windows update and unraveled. I recovered it but suspect it's one and only memory module as a troublemaker so I ordered two new. Might as well upgrade while I'm at it.

But figuring out exactly which one(s) is(are) needed shouldn't be such a gigantic p.i.t.a. I have been to this rodeo any number of times and man they make it hard sometimes. You'd think knowing the exact model # and specs and serial number and product ID and all that crapola would be of some use.

Not so much. Swine.

There should be specs labeled right on the memory stick that you can use to order more from any source you prefer besides directly from HP...

I have a box full of those memory sticks for laptops and for desktops, two different physical sizes, the desktop variety being much longer...

Could've opened it and peeked, preferred not to though. My bad I guess. Second one goes under the keyboard (I don't doubt you know). Not my favorite task but done it enough. Once I got it figured out Amazon was the Easy Button. Thanks.

I hate getting a bad haircut, I only asked for a trim thank god, but she couldn't get that right and wouldn't shut up about politics and even stopped cutting my hair a couple times and kept that mouth running...She's not the usual person I go to for a haircut and won't be going back there again...She didn't screw up that bad, but I don't like it...

My usual hair stylist was booked up for this week but I called her back and asked her to please fix my hair right so she's coming in to her shop tomorrow morning just for me and get my hair cut right...She's awesome and knows I'll tip her really well for this favour...

Made my day getting good haircut today, scissors only just the way I like it...I didn't know this but the woman who cuts my hair got Covid in January earlier this year and she said she's still having lingering issues like fatigue and muscle pain from Covid...She told me about it today while cutting my hair...

I hate it when I'm half asleep at 0415 out back with my dog and the skunk out there is wide awake. She didn't get hit too bad and we keep a bottle of that 'no smell' stuff handy for this reason, seems to work pretty well. Welcome to Sunday.

After the third skunk in the same amount of years my dog finally learned to leave skunks alone lol...Three years in a row, once a year he had an encounter, to be fair the third time wasn't my dog's fault because of chasing one, that time the skunk just happened to wonder into the backyard in the middle of the night about the same time I was letting kobi out to do his business...

Around a dozen years ago I purchase an HP desktop computer. When I fired it up I was getting horizontal bands of static across the screen. I immediately marched it back to the dealer. The techs scratched their heads until they figured out the problem. The power supply was too undersized for the computer. After a lot of back and forth they upped the power supply.

I didn’t keep that HP very long. I found a place locally that builds custom PCs. I have been buying from them ever since.
