Believer
I was inspired a few days ago to post a thread about this location after visiting last week with a couple of friends...
Spider Gates Cemetery
It's located in Leicester, Massachusetts, a bit over an hour away from where I live. A friend called me up last week (knowing I'd been wanting to visit the grounds for years, but never got to planning a trip) and said he and another friend of ours were thinking about making the trip if I wanted to go. It probably wasn't the best idea, as temps have been averaging around 3 degrees during the day and we just got about 11 inches of snow, but we went.
The place is known for weird sightings of people in robes, candles being lit in occult-like fashions, sacrifices being left by graves, and people claiming touching certain stones or areas led them to hallucinate or be transported to "hell" or another dimension. The part the interested me the most was seeing if there was evidence of there being occult activity or if it was BS.
We arrived and made our way through some wooded areas and found what looked like an altar, but what could have been an extravagant burial site. We were going to poke around this area more, but the amount of snow made it difficult so we decided to just continue. Now, what was a little weird was around the center of the cemetery were some trees, and what looked like recent snow tracks showing a pentagram with a circle in the middle of it.
We made it to about here when we were approached by a security officer (we were trespassing but he wasn't aggressive about it) and we conversed with him for a bit. He said just back around November he saw a bunch of women aged 18-80 in all black clothes, hooded, around the circle of the cemetery forming a circle. He said another guard on the grounds told him he's seen people walking around carrying swords and candles down to a riverbed area nearby.
My friend said he got weird vibes at the place, saying he felt it was truly haunted. I did get weird feeling in some spots, like near old graves and what looked like an altar.. but that could be chalked up to environmental exposure. I would like to visit again at night, but at the same time, I don't think I would...
