May has made a mess of it, I said as much back in early 2017 on Alien Hub when she made her Lancaster House speech. It was clear then that we would be in this state at this time because she chose a wholly stupid negotiating strategy (largely as a concession to Tory Brexiteers, who had absolutely no clue about anything). As bad as May is, I do not have confidence in anyone in the Tory party, or in the whole of Parliament, to do a better job than she is doing. If May goes, I fear the situation will be all the more worse.
As terrible as May's deal is, the best option for the nation is still for MPs to back it. Leaving before we get a deal with the EU will be so much worse, and a real economic disaster for this country. Brexiteers in the Tory party are a bunch of johnny-come-latelies to the idea of leaving the EU and know nothing, least of all how to actually make a success of Brexit. We will be dealing with the EU no matter what. Either in an orderly manner, before we leave, or in a chaotic and desperate manner afterwards.
I do not really care if May has insulted Parliament, as our MPs are almost to a man absolutely dreadful, terrible at their jobs and entirely worthy of being insulted.
The choices facing Parliament (and the nation) are these: Bad deal, no deal or no Brexit. Take your pick.
