One thing I do like about the U.S. is we have a national holiday to celebrate gratitude. I truly believe I have a lot to be grateful for and remind myself of that every day.

Thank you. I think we are all set. Of course, low & behold after I booked the car (the airline tickets were booked back in Sept) I get this gigantic mailer (those over sized direct mail pieces we all get) but only its from the VA. They said its a brand new perk for veterans where you shop online for anything & everything & supposedly save $. So I assumed it was like their version of Amazon - which it actually is. But in addition to Amazon type of stuff, you can book airline tickets, book rental cars, theme park tickets, water park tickets, ski & snowboard lift tickets to pretty much any mountain in the U.S., movie tickets, etc. etc. So being the skeptic, I hopped on their site and checked things out. First item I checked (North Face jacket) cost the same on their site as Amazon (to the dollar). But then I looked at their car rentals - they were $100 less for the time frame I needed one which I was amazed at. Then I checked one more random thing - a lift ticket for Hunter Mountain in NY. A all day ticket on Hunter Mountains website is $89 and on this VA website I was on it was $65. I looked up Disney tickets too (which they almost are never discounted) and there is a minute savings of a couple bucks per ticket. Then it also says I get $20 off my first purchase. I'll give this site a shot & see if it works as advertised.

Indeed hope everyone travels safe if traveling and as a Happy Thanksgiving...I have a 5 day holiday weekend for Thanksgiving, which is much needed for me, been working many many long days and weekends this autumn...
