At 1:40 into the video you can see a satellite view of a smoke plume coming out of the ocean off the coast of California. He starts commenting at 08:16.

At 8:15 in this video I start talking after I observed the vapor events out in the ocean...

This was all recorded live on the live stream... first I was looking for the wildfire smoke from Southern California.. and that's when I noticed the vapor plume out in the ocean coming from a single source for most of the day.

I decided to save the whole video from the live stream from before I got on until after I finished so people could see the whole segment unedited.

This was recorded live on the live stream in front of several hundred people.

The popping you hear is the Christmas fireplace I have running on the live stream :)

These events were observed on December 11, 2017 (occurring on December 9th -10th) seen on the GOES weather satellite (visible feed) provided by NOAA and the National Weather Service: http://weather.cod.edu/satrad/

Yes, right now he's the only one. I imagine if there's actually an erupting underwater volcano they'll have to disclose it at some point.

Yes if the Taney Seamounts were now active it would be big news. The other location is part of a ocean floor spreading center......so its not a surprise, or big news.

I this case it made me laugh when he said "why am I the only one reporting this"....I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I'd just like to make three points.

1)...only pumice would be found on the shore from recent off shore volcanic eruptions because it floats.....the others do not.

2)...The coastal ranges contain volcanic rocks.....it is more likely that the igneous rocks they are finding are being washed down the river past Orick to the coast.

3)...fossils are not found in volcanic rocks because the creature would have been incinerated.

Sounds more like they need some lessons in science than any new news story.

Yep this is true...lava will incinerate any bone or fossils...
