Australia has a sizeable Asian population and over a year ago I was walking past an Asian fair in a Shopping Center where they were giving out free food samples of various fried insects.
I remember there were crickets but I forget what other insects and worm like looking creatures there were. I was with 2 family members who were what I called them, wussy yellow streaked males because they weren't game enough to try them so I had a point to prove and tried one of each.
Apparently, so I found out, fried insects are considered a delicacy in some parts of Asia, but all I remember is eating these tasteless little fried crunchy things, each insect not even a decent mouthful...
...... and then I spent the next half hour picking little bits of leg, wings, tentacles and other small insectoid body parts which were stuck between my teeth... lol...
