3D-printed plastic guns: The issue isn't over since instructions are already public
A federal court in Seattle on Tuesday issued a temporary restraining order blocking Cody Wilson and his Austin-based Defense Distribution from uploading plans to make 3D-printed firearms from handguns to AR-15 style rifles. In a related development, Wilson also agreed to refrain temporarily from releasing the plans under a deal reached with the state of New Jersey.

Apparently you can't make an all plastic gun because it would fall into the undetectable category. If 3D printing becomes widespread it'll financially hurt a lot of industries. An example would be 3D printed homes. There's a 3D printed car thread.

As Above So Below
I’m a gun owner and I have to believe that allowing 3D plastic guns to be made is a very bad idea. There would be no controls whatsoever if this went through.

I've never owned a gun but support those who do, yet I think allowing people to print an untraceable gun is an extremely bad idea...Of course banning this from the public won't help too much, its the black market and criminal organizations who probably already have this ability which is the bigger problem...
