From my recollection there is a race in Australia between snakes, crocodiles, and sharks over who eats the most Australians in any given year. They all average around 3 per year.
Spiders haven't killed anyone since 1979 (if memory serves).
Just to put this in perspective:
Equine species kill about 8 per year. Cows kill 3+. Dogs kill 3.
