It amuses me to think that small unusual events float right past us all the time unnoticed. I have mentioned in the past that my eyeglasses vanished and reappeared in a bizarre fashion a couple of years ago. Sounds silly to even type that but it really did happen to me and I am paying attention.
Lived in this house 26+ years. Scotty can tell you the ship's speed just by the feel of her deck plates and so can I - anything out of the ordinary routine is noticed. You hear a weird noise eventually you'll find out what it is. Saturday when I had a less than hot shower the DIY homeowner circuit in my skull activated and of course I checked my nice, well maintained boiler and tank. Normal. No power - odd as it has a dedicated circuit in the breaker panel. It also has a cutoff switch right on the boiler itself and a convenience outlet. The breaker was good, the switch not operated, just no power. Unusual.
Just inside the basement door up on the wall slightly over 6' is the original cutoff switch with the standard red 'emergency cutoff' plate - the one on the boiler is a convenience this one is required. As in - there's a fire rated door between the cutoff and the boiler. It was off. The last time that got touched was for a real fire in 1997. Now, that's not some stunning revelation but when it's only the two of us in the house and certainly neither of us touched it even by accident it begs the question: WTF? It's in a spot where nothing's going to bump it either - way up in a corner. It's a solid foot over top of my wife's head, nose level for me. I even checked the cameras - no, nobody snuck in and turned it off. It's absolutely not normal - but mundane so is it paranormal? Doesn't seem so but damn, that switch was physically operated and I think it's a fair question to ask how. See? Small weird shit can be vexing. That was the gist of some of what JB Alexander had to say in Reality Denied and when one hits you in the face like a wet noodle it seems less prosaic.
