The Jacques Vallee Thread

As many know I am impressed by the work Dr Vallee has done over the last 50 years when he first started with Dr Hynek at Northwestern near Chicago Il. Perhaps the worlds foremost expert on the subject along with a few others he has written books, papers, given lectures, and even was the role model for the French scientist in the film Close Encounters. A scientist, astronomer, writer, computer expert, technology investor, and ufologist.
I'm interested in delving into his ideas pro and con to see where it can lead us. Some background links for info:

In one book I remember reading many years ago - Jacques Vallee, after giving the details of some encounters/sightings - came to the conclusion that we were probably dealing with interdimensional,
rather than extraterrestrial, phenomena.

In recent years I've heard him on talk shows like 'Coaast to Coast' and I got the feeling that he ???? - Another words where does he stand now? - What is his latest viewpoint on the UFO/ET phenomena?

And, being that he is first a scientist, what does he believe as to the concepts of the 'multiverse' -
does he believe we are living in s paradigm of many, if not an infinite number, of universes?

He did indeed go from the ETH to the EDH after years of investigation. Based on his data he believed that the ETH was not the best fit for the ufo enigma.
It seems he is now , being the last few years , more interested in the sociological and cultural effects and technological ideas that can be derived from the enigma than an actual physical answer. I think he believes that the phenom, whatever it might be, is simply too complex for humans to figure out at at this time but that we can use it to advance our own ideas of space travel and technology in various mediums.
I don't know his thoughts on the multiverse but I suspect he would be ok with that.

I'll see if I can find his latest interview online.

From that link:
"Now, it’s almost hard to believe that all this happened exactly the way he’s saying, I mean, this is Jacques Vallée and everything, but come on. Well, here’s the real kicker. He wrote it all down in his journal. So here’s a guy, who’s right in the middle of the computer revolution in Silicon Valley, a world-class computer scientist at the time, and he’s right in the middle of the parapsychology thing, and right in the middle of the UFO thing, and he wrote it all down........"

But you see it makes perfect sense - In the same way that Quantum Physics has made physics almost seem like a branch of the occult {'Spooky action at a distance, and quantum entanglement'} - Computers will allow for an expanding of reality into dimensions beyond contemporary concepts of time, space, and dimension.

Jacques Valee is turning out to be the scientist of the future, the scientist that will not allow dogma to stop progress - Same might be said for Michio Kaku who is becoming the 'rock star of physicists' - He keeps an open mind and on the UFO/Alien phenomena {not his speciality} he allows for possibility - But still demands solid tangible evidence bdgore he would accept some of the things Vallee seems to already accept.

I'll check out the other links later but right now I see that Ray Kurzweil's "The Singularity is Near"
{2010 documentary/sci-fi] is available free on YouTube so I must watch it.

Glad you enjoyed the link......I don't think Dr Vallee is stating this as 'fact' yet ,but saying we should start looking into these areas to see where it takes us.

It really amazes me that people aren't interested in discussing a world class ufologist and his ideas yet they have no problem posting stuff about underground alien bases and aliens on the moon.

Fantasy and reality play off of each other.

People like fantasy better - Why science fiction is more popular than alien 'facts' - especially since even in cases like Vallee your still left with mostly speculation - Proof still remains to be seen.

No doubt......but to me it seems like most of the people I run across on ufo forums are poorly read and somewhat shallow in their knowledge of the subject.
Maybe it's time for me to hang it up.

I'll take a nibble at your bait, you may get better responses by being less insulting and less negating and instead attempt to discuss things and show a little patience sometimes...I can understand though I used to get a little anxious sometimes myself in waiting for a reply in a thread I have interest in but over the years have found it does me no good to be impatient, it will come when it comes...;)

Patience is a virtue...... an old outworn adage but I suppose it's true.
But to be honest I do think that most on these forums simply are not very well read and prefer just to comment on web page info that is easy for them to digest. I have met few people online who wish to delve deeply into the ufo enigma to look at the complexity of the various issues involved. It's more about ....I'm an 'abductee' and here's my story and don't bother me with anything else. As I said perhaps people aren't interested anymore in getting into the truth of the matter and these forums have become moribund.

Just because you haven't received a legitimate reply in this thread for two days doesn't mean anything, you're reading too deep into your tea leaves my good dr wu, Alan Watts has spoken much about patience, have you forgotten?...;)

Oh no.....you miss my intent. I'm not referring to just this thread but in general to forums over the last few years.
I find the level of discussion is nowhere near what it once was. I recall several forums over the last 20 years where we would delve deeply into various aspects (sociological, psychological, physical evidence or lack of, folklore similarities, and even occult similarities..) of the enigma that didn't center on someones weird abduction or whether or not aliens lived under Dulce , NM or on the moon in secret bases.
I miss those halcyon days.

ps: I gave up on Mr Watts many years ago......ultimately a fruitless endeavor for me.
