Hi Oli, the Alfena event and picture is well known to all UFO-buffs and though the 'object' could be described as being 'unusual' it is not the only freaky-looking tentacled UFO witnessed and reported. In this case, by the fact that there were so many reliable witnesses to the event leaves me with no doubt that an UFO was witnessed by dozens of witnesses on that morning [10 sept 1990] ... but judging by the four photographs [taken by a genuine photo-journalist] makes me wonder if this very real object, that by definition we have to call an 'UFO' would only be a UFO to us! ... By us, I mean the regular 'Joe Public'... us that have no knowledge of what the military have secreted away from our prying eyes! ... In this case, I would tentatively suggest some kind of 'Air-ship'... you know, perhaps this is one case in which the tired old debunkers ridiculous proclamation of 'balloon' would be finally justified. lol. There's some weird looking inflatable contraptions to be found online today.... so I wonder if the Alfena UFO twenty eight years ago could have been a prototype of something like this ...

.... As for the 'Rio Tinto' picture, I've never seen this one before and am initially impressed by the sight of it. ... But as to the authentification of the picture... all that I have found so far is that the story is that the photographer 'Helder Pinto' took the picture on his Vodafone Smart ultra 6 of 13 mpx. whilst on his way home from work ... apparently alone! ... And then of course [as is the modern way] posted it on to social network sites. ...

.... And so for me, I have to say that it is a good find my friend, the picture is good, but of course could well be one of those many , many bits of tomfoolery that can be found so very prevelently on the web.

Cheers buddy.

To fake a UFO - you just have to get someone to mold a custom clay pigeon (in fact a box of them).

It is child's play to launch them with the standard clay pigeon launcher and get a good picture.

The picture will look authentic in every detail.

You just have to take the picture from a perspective where the UFO looks large.

Hi guys, I just thought that i'd throw the old 'Cluj UFO photo's' in here to ask what you folk thought of them...and the story of them being what they are meant to be by Emil Barnea , 50 years ago believable?

1968-Kluj_18-08-1968-300x170.jpg

... It is one of the earliest pictures that I can remember from what would 'probably' be my first look into a UFO magazine or book. [I loved that stuff just as much when I was a kid as I do now. lol]
I was probably not that impressed then, it would have been somewhere about 45 years ago , I didn't care much about the circumstances of the event, and I had my certainty that UFO's/flying saucers definitely had to look exactly like the old Hollywood flying saucers ...just like Klaatu's in fact! ;)
Yeah!, they had to look like the one that Gort was in, ... and not look like 'someone had thrown a straw boater up in the air and took a quick snap of it! [I've thought the same about quite a few pictures since, and later changed my mind... the Rex Heflin pics spring to mind.] ... Anyway, the point is that I had my own perceptions of just what a genuine UFO picture would look like..[still do now to a point, .. only not nearly as ridged in my views.]... but after a good deal of time and effort in studying as much about this fascinating subject as I could devote over the years [normal life has got a nasty habit of getting in the way of giving it the full attention that it deserves.] .. With the little research skills that I possess I have learned that funnily enough the opposite initial reaction is usually the closer to the truth... or the best bet. I mean for instance, the old maxim of .."if it looks too good to be true, then it probably is too good to be true".. Nowadays there are a myriad of modern brilliantly vivid Klaatu-runarounds to be found in every magazine or on every ufological-site... but you just know that they are just the product of 'up-to-date-tech' and to be taken with a pinch of salt. But back then 50 years ago, untraceable fakery wasn't so easy to perform. And as these pictures have had the full gamut of technical scrutiny over the years... and are still considered to be remarkable by leading professionals in the field... allied to the fact that the witnesses seem to be of impeccable character,... the I suggest that these 'unlikely looking pictures' must be taken seriously. [as are the more famous , and much maligned by-bad0debunkers Trent and Trindade Island photos.]

.... Incidentally, just as a side note... I also find interesting that also from this small area of the world [a Transylvanian woods, in the middle of nowhere-land unless you are a vampire lol]... just five years later an unusual and mysterious object was unearthed from ten meters underground by builders .... it was a 250,000 years old chunk of worked 'Aluminium' ... yeah, Swiss scientists at a respected lab in Lausanne say that it is a quarter of a million years too old to exist! ... Probably totally unrelated, and I shouldn't have bothered to mention it.... but it tweeked my interest lol.

This looks more like a portal than a UFO.
Bizarre Image Apparently Shows Extraterrestrial Occupant Inside A UFO • Latest UFO sightings
A strange photo has once again gained attention online after alien hunters posted it on YouTube. It reportedly shows an extraterrestrial inside.

The picture is claimed to have taken on May 1, 1980, in Manchester region, New Hampshire in the US.

The image shows a seemingly sizeable muddy farming field with a single bright blob in the distance just before sunset.

UFO researchers have zoomed in on the bright object and pointed out the alleged occupant.

UFOmania posted the photo to YouTube after it emerged on MUFON website.

The Narrator of the video stated that the person who reportedly took the image only said the UFO hovered for a second, turned and then had its take off.

Some viewers are not convinced the photo shows a UFO with an occupant. One user wrote that the alien was seemingly operating a space Prius and another even joked about the missing cup holder in that apparent ship of an advanced species.

An alleged UFO was also observed on live satellite coverage of NASA recently. The strange video shows bright lights flashing on the live feed of the International Space Station.

Not sure if I haven't seen this one be proven hoax Nivek... but can't recall the facts?.. Well if not, and i'm misremembering then imho the possibility of the 'object' being something small dangling from that small branch in the foreground is enough for me to put it in the bottom drawer mate. :Sneaky:

Cheers Buddy.

November 1976 South Herwang, Indonesia. By 2:00pm, engineer Tony Hartono had taken a series of photographs of an off-shore oil rig that his employer ARCO was building. He was shooting from a launch. With his last exposure, his took this photo as he looked at the ocean. The object appeared a yellowish colour as it approached quite near to him after his last photo was snapped.

I like the look of this one, it's 42 years old... new to me, and I know virtually nothing about it,.... can anyone help with info please?

Cheers. b0002

Well this is all I can find thus far, but it does give us a few breadcrumbs of information lol...

South Herwang, Indonesia
November 11, 1976

At 2:00pm in November of 1976, Mr. Tony Hartono, an engineer, had taken photographs of the off- shore oil rig his company ARCO Indonesia was building in order to illustrate his progress report. He had one left and was standing on a platform facing the sea, wondering what else he could shoot to finish the film roll.

Suddenly his attention was attracted to a little dark speck in the sky which was growing larger as it approached. It became a yellowish color as it continued its approach and came quite near the launch he was in. He used his last shot to capture this object on film.
