You may be asking, Why?

Well One of my dogs is really old, She wakes up with crust on her eyes and it's so bad she can't open her eyes, You might ask, How would I ever get her to stay still long enough to use eye drops on her.

Well, I use a washcloth and waste a whole bottle per time I do this. I have about twenty bottles of Visine on standby. I also have something called natural tears, My dogs are my babies, There is nothing I won't do for them. Anyway, I've been doing this for about a week, She seems to do well with it. But I began wondering if Visine is Dog safe. What do you guys think?

I don't think Visine is safe for people or dogs. I used it for a few days when I was working too much, and I noticed that when I stopped using it, my eyes were far more bloodshot than usual: so it makes your capillaries dependent upon it. I'll never use it again.

The best thing to do is probably to take her to the vet, to see if she has conjunctivitis, or possibly allergies. Either one can be safely treated.

If it's not something that's treatable, I'd suggest using saline solution. But this really seems like a question you should bring to your vet - it's important to know if there's an underlying cause here.

Thanks, bro, I'm gonna take her to the local vet, I'm pretty sure it's an eye kind of infection
I was reading up on Visine just now, and yeah, It doesn't seem like it would be safe for anyone, all the chemicals in it, and it's proven to damage blood vessels in the human eye if used chronically. It makes me wonder why they even make the stuff :/ It's probably conjunctivitis this is an issue she has had pop up several times over the last few months.

She's my baby, It literally hurts me when I see her hurting :(

That's a good move - if it's conjunctivitis, you can clear it up within a few days using eye drops. Left untreated , conjunctivitis can cause all kinds of damage.

Yeah I'm kinda shocked that Visine and Clear Eyes etc. are even legal - creepy stuff. Any medication that makes things worse should be banned.

Dogs are amazing people, we're lucky to have them around. I can't bring myself to own one because I get too attached and they don't live long - I just can't go through losing another one.

Good luck getting her into ship shape again; at least it's not a very serious ailment.

They really are people, In the time I've spent with my dogs, I've learned a lot about animals as a whole, Animals don't seem to possess deception, If a Dog loves you, It loves you more truly than most people ever have, At least in my opinion, Dogs are a treasure :)
