Never Mind the Summer Heat: Earth Is at Its Greatest Distance From the Sun

This week the heat index here has been getting up to around 100 degrees Fahrenheit every day so I'm trying to find something positive to fall back on.

So we are three million miles farther from the sun than when we are closest to it...Tomorrow's high temps here is forecast 75 degrees, coincidence or?...

anyone look into the "Mandela effect" ?
seems as if I remember about the opposite of this thread
I remember south america closer to then sun in the winter they have
it is why many pepper types take so long to produce fruit
they were closer to the sun in winter, and further in the summer, this gives them very mild winters and summers.
so, plants to evolve to need that much time to produce (all the time they want)
so, if I am all wrong on this,
what does it mean for what garden plants I am growing or how I chose the type ?
