live by the sword die by the sword. poetic justice.
I've wondered this myself whenever I have opened this thread as of late...Are the guests getting solicited for cash or presented with (shady) business deals and are new members getting constantly solicited for the plus pier and peddled for donations?...Perhaps a little from column a and a little from column d...
I actually listened to the Gary Voorhis. He sounded pretty normal and had no idea who those two bozos were. Once in a while I get nostalgic for that show - love the opening. Never takes more than about 5 minutes of listening to correct that.
It has always amazed me how many guests will show up on the Paracast without checking who the hosts are. I guess most of these people just want to sell their books and dvds and don’t care who or where they do their shilling.
Well, I went on the show. But I did so because I promised I would ages beforehand, and, then, because I didn't grasp how pervasive and full-time this asking for money thing was. I beleived it was a side hustle, not the main show. If I'd know about all that Mr. Torsen stuff, and the court problems and other bad things I'd had have second thoughts. The show seems to go on quite well though.
this post has me asking if Gene Steinberg hit you up for money
Not from memory. He did mention how much better Australia must be compared to his poverty. But no outright requests. Much of it went smoothly, compared to some of the shows I've been on, untill there was a dog barking like crazy in the background, and a woman yelling and screaming, and then the motel staff arrived. He said it was the cleaners. That much I remember..
Times are difficult. Regardless of what you believe about the novel coronavirus, it is real and it is impacting hundreds of thousands of people around the world.
Where is ET when we need them?
But I’ll get to the point. Recently, we slashed prices for Paracast+ subscriptions. I’d planned to end that promotion by the end of March, but I’m going to extend it.
Many of you are being forced to stay at home due to the current situation. With all that extra time on your hands, you might want to catch up on the episodes of The Paracast that you may have missed.
If you haven’t gotten around to looking into The Paracast+, now’s the time!
The Paracast+ is better than ever, especially the After The Paracast podcast. Each week we feature a special guest; sometimes it’s a continuation of the conversation on the regular episode of The Paracast. Sometimes it’s another guest.
After The Paracast has also featured exclusive interviews. So Nick Pope, who became famous as the former head of the UFO desk at the UK Ministry of Defence, revealed his interest in conspiracy theories. On April 14, 2017, we presented Monte Shriver, a retired college professor and accountant, who was a resident of Aztec, NM at the time of the alleged crash of a UFO in 1948. Not to be a spoiler and all, but I think most of you know that he, and the former classmates he met at a reunion more than five decades later, had no memories of any such episode.
Here’s a link to a thread in our forum listing the topics featured in recent episodes of After The Paracast:

Yes, it’s always something unexpected, and After The Paracast is only available to subscribers to The Paracast+. For that alone, the small subscription price is worth it.

So that’s it. If you have any questions about signing up, just write me direct: firstname.lastname@example.org.

P.S. If you’ve already subscribed for a one-year or five-year membership, contact me and I’ll work out a special deal for you.
No shame ..absurdity no shame..
just short of Begging..
Indeed, will this parasite never give up and leave us alone?
I'm not seeing a problem here. How is this different than what we get from other people flogging podcasts or other such things? His behavior has seen a remarkable change since the spam stopped. I kept expecting the sob story to start, but it's just a sales pitch for a product that actually exists. Some of the product is even good.
Agreed. He is just selling a product which you may or may not like (personally I think it is rubbish now).
It may sound a little desperate and I don't think giving huge discounts inspires a lot of confidence in any product, but that is up to him. Times are genuinely tough for a lot of people given the current worldwide crisis.
He is not scamming people with fraudulent begging any more and that is to be commended. - If we just mock him whatever he does it will just encourage him to go back to the old ways.
Let's encourage Gene in his newly reformed behaviour. Unless/until we get evidence that he has gone back to his old ways I wish him the best of luck.
I agree..its distasteful to mention coronavirus..but he has reformed..
best wishes Gene..
Hate to say it but he's actually doing what a lot of people are. Check this out:
Additionally, we are still running our "Coronavirus Consolation" sale - 10% off the entire website (excluding firearms). Simply enter code "COVID19" at checkout.
That's a scrape out of an email I got from an antique firearms parts dealer. Nice to know if I need to defend my home from roaming bands of Comanches I can still get parts for the old trapdoor Springfields.
I heard, while listening to Sirius, that they are letting anyone and everyone stream music for free this month. Their phone app has vastly improved, but it's still irritating to use, the only way to really turn it off is to delete it, and so on. Still, though, that's a cool thing for them to do.
Stay safe during this pandemic Gene, here's a great thread started by @Thomas R. Morrison with information to help in protecting oneself:
Methods to Combat the COVID-19 Coronavirus
When I am wrong I admit it. Gene you deserve to make a living. To be like all us to make money honestly and fairly.
You have shown you can do that. You have shown that I am wrong and you want to be an honest man.
And so again I say to you best always.
When you were begging I was one of your greatest critics.
And now I will not criticize you for wanting to increase sales. its honest.
And so I join with Nivek and wish you to stay safe and healthy.
and at last..at long last you now have earned something..
my forgiveness for what happened so long ago.
My greatest thoughts are with you Gene.
all my Best.
A Spring 2020 Update!
History shows that the Great Depression lasted from August 1929 through March 1933. My parents were alive then, but were preteens for most of that period.
Now maybe they told me about it when I was real young, but I don’t remember.
It may be we are living in a depression now, and I know many of you are suffering. In addition to the pandemic, jobs are being lost, rents and other bills are late.
As you know, I’ve survived nearly a decade of financial troubles, and I did think I was getting through the worst.
I’ve set aside Uber and Lyft driving for the time being. It’s not safe to have a total stranger, with an unknown physical condition, in the back seat. Don't forget that I am in the age group where people are the most vulnerable to possible infection from the coronavirus.
The promised “stimulus checks” from the IRS still aren’t here.
So I’m staying home and taking my chances, concentrating on rebuilding the business with the major focus on The Paracast and technightowl.com.
Randall and I are seeking volunteers to help rebuild theparacast.com. After our web developer went AWOL, we also rebuilt the Paracast Store (check out www.theparacast.shop).
If all goes well — and nothing is certain anymore — there will be a loosening of the “stay at home” orders over the next few weeks (perhaps as early as May 1). People will get back to work, assuming there’s a place to get back to. For now, I’m taking stock of everything I’m doing to earn a living to try to boost my income.
As always, I remain optimistic.
If you’re in any position to provide a little help, as always I appreciate your donations, whatever you can send.

While the online stalkers are still doing their dirty deeds, I continue to ignore them. One of the worst offenders tried to clutter my email box recently, but he was quickly banned (blacklisted), and those filthy messages were forwarded to his service provider.
If you have any questions at all about my situation, please write.
Thank you for reading and for your past support.
Same old same old from Steinberg. Most people who get Social Security money are the first to get their stimulus checks. More BS? Steinberg needs volunteers ( those who will slave for him for free) to build up the business. And there are those pesky online stalkers still out there trying to keep Steinberg down. I don’t see that Steinberg has learned any lessons from the past nonsense he has been working for the past fifteen years.
ok... wow simply Wow so many cards played..
I had thought with C.O.B back on the show as a guest a coner had been turned.
I thought he went honest.
I thought he had reformed.
Gene I know you read this so let me say how incredibly disappointed I am.
I still forgive you.
The Begging is back..
I knew that you would not resist.
I had hoped for better
it is like leaving a peanut and jelly sandwich on the table and trusting my 5 year old daughter wont take it..
