I know this thread is really for reviewing and critiquing new movies but I just had to post this. A couple of nights ago I was channel surfing and I found Brian's Song on the BYU channel. I have the movie on DVD... somewhere. I haven't seen it in years. I sat there and watched it all the way from beginning to end, glued to the set (it helps that the BYU channel does not run commercials during shows).
I forgot what a riveting film it is. It was only a low budget made-for-TV movie, yet many regard it as one of the all time classics. It's really not about football or politics. It's about relationships and life itself with a timely message.
