The Obama administration 'SABOTAGED a DEA operation to stop Hezbollah smuggling drugs into the US and helped the militant group grow into a global threat so the Iran nuke deal would go ahead'
  • Former president's officials accused of opening doors for cocaine traffickers and money launderers
  • DEA led a complex operation called Project Cassandra to bring down militants
  • Claimed Obama's people erected roadblocks, hindering agents
  • As the Iran nuclear deal neared its agreement, it became harder for the DEA
  • Once the deal was done, task force was scrapped
  • One US government operative said: 'Hezbollah operates like the Gambino crime family on steroids'
  • White House says it shows a contrast between Trump's 'success against ISIS' and 'Obama's appeasement of terrorists'
The Drug Enforcement Administration in 2008 began a complex operation called Project Cassandra to tackle Hezbollah - which was founded in the 1980s by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

But as the Obama administration worked towards a deal to stop Iran's nuclear program in return for the lifting of economic sanctions, the DEA's work got more difficult, Politico reports.

It is claimed Obama's people threw down a number of roadblocks, effectively paving the way for Hezbollah's $1bn-a-year illegal activities including cocaine smuggling in partnership with the Zeta cartel to continue.

DEA agents claim the Obama administration stopped them arresting key figures linked to Hezbollah as an agreement on the Iran nuclear deal approached - and scrapped Project Cassandra entirely once the terms were agreed in 2015.

Going to have to wait a bit.

I'll have to watch the episodes.

A flat reading of the content doesn't tell me how objectively it is presented

Ah, no rush.. Christmas comming up. Perhaps if you find a few minutes one day and brush them over. Think its on Netflix now..
It will be very interesting to hear your take one Stones approach to modern US history.. You could be a much needed counterweight in my understanding of his work :laugh8:

Sessions orders DOJ review after report Obama administration gave Hezbollah a pass

Attorney General Jeff Sessions is launching a review of a law enforcement initiative called Project Cassandra after an investigative report was published this week claiming the Obama administration gave a free pass to Hezbollah’s drug-trafficking and money-laundering operations to help ensure the Iran nuclear deal would stay on track.

Trump should recognize that Sessions has done one of the best jobs of his officials.

Sessions after his initial recusal has been doing yeoman's work as the Attorney General.

He is positioned to remake the DOJ, and FBI as the result of some Obama blunders that appear to have given him heads on silver platter.

I still haven't figured out why McCabe is still around. He has to have pictures of Trump screwing a Russian politician or something equally serious - but his time is running out.

I agree about Sessions, he is doing a good job and should be commended...The DOJ was a mess, Obama really screwed up a lot and put sorry people in important positions and it will take some time to straighten out his blunders...

Let me correct two things:
1. It isn't a "screw up" if it is part of a deliberate plan.

2. Obama put people in place that aren't sorry. They are lacking in ethics and morals, and indeed seem incapable of feeling conscience, regret, or remorse.
