I am loving this. Makes me feel not so alone because this/that kind of shit happens to me all the time.

I used to feel the way you are right now. Now, I ignore it. For example, a bag just flew across the kitchen and then it sounded like some kind of pick or hook was getting stuck in the living room carpet all the way around the room. Like when a cat sharpens it's claws on the carpet.

Don't even want to start listing the things I have lost and found like you have recently. I'd be here all night.

Can't wait to see the video recordings you get. :D Is it the same principle as the doorbell cameras I have been seeing a lot of on youtube?

Your ears must've been ringing :)
I was thinking about your reaction and a few others here who are used to this stuff. I'm not. If there's a noise I know what it is or will find out. In this old house I'm like Scotty. I can tell what's going on by the feel of the deck plates.

My cats see them but I don't .

If there's something suddenly freaky about that spot it doesn't bother Louie. There is a cardboard box right there with a towel on it. He sits there while I sit here and type. Sometimes he makes a day of it.

This isn't my pets. I literally has them in view when all this happened.

They'll both swipe little pieces of paper and plastic, swat a pen on the ground, normal cat stuff. I even call Frank the 'second story man' because there's another higher bookcase he likes to get up on. I leave a couple of clinky commemorative coins up there for him to fool with.

WTF #1 was June 10 2020. WTF #2 was November 13 2020. That camera isn't going to move.

And speaking of that, in the peculiar retwilight I find myself in I come across a lot of gadgetry. Ring and Nest are solving problems that I'm just not having and I figure I don't need to let the North Koreans see who drops packages off at the front door.

I grabbed that Wyze camera because it's a standalone, no hub needed but the app looks like you could manage several of their devices. They make outdoor cameras and it wouldn't cost that much to cover the whole exterior of the house. 1080p, records about 2 days at HD, it's supposed to box in moving objects on replay (haven't seen that yet) and unobtrusive. The I got is black and would fit in my coffee cup. In an era where we take impressive tech for granted, this thing is damned cool.

Okay, so lets get this part out of the way. Geez PF, you pack so much info into your posts...

Is there any way the offending cable could have fallen off a shelf and onto the cabinet you were working on? Although, even if it did fall, how the heck did it get wrapped around the bluetooth speaker, right?

Was the cable in any way adaptable to use with the bluetooth speaker or camera you were piecing together?

Yes, they are cool and I wish I had money to put towards these kinds of gadgets. The thing is that it all adds up. You buy one thing and then another and another and before you know it you've spent a fortune on gadgets that were deemed obsolete the moment they were put on display in the store. I would really like to be able to put cameras around or in my car because this is my 5th car since I moved here and they have all been vandalized.

All I have is a Dell computer tower with xp, monitor, plug-in keyboard with buttons/keys that keep falling off, cordless headset (no speakers) and a cordless mouse. No cell phone. Just a landline with the phone you sent me. That is the extend of my gadgets. When you say "put up or shut up" it adds up. lol I'd have to purchase a lot of stuff to get set up. I don't have the funds for all that.
