Well, I researched this guy, immediately, I was struck at how interesting his character was. So much so, The man almost seemed fictional. Until I discovered, Lemarchand was, in fact, the person who created The Lemarchand puzzle box
This configuration on the puzzle box was called the Lament configuration, That in itself looked so awesome and somehow familiar.
Which in reality is a Music box that doesn't transform and plays the happiest most upbeat hellraiser theme you have ever heard in your life, I think I may buy one. So I did more research. I Then found this awesome page about the guy, Philip LeMarchand
Who turned out to be a fictional character in the Hellraiser universe.
I hate to be the man that does this but.
Debunked with love though. This was a fun topic.
Well, I think it's fictional because It's all from a Clive Barker novel called The Hellbound Heart.I am unclear why you think that the Lemarchand story is false. Yes, the movies used his character and the Pyramid Gallery makes copies that play a cute tune. The real Lemarchand boxes are numbered in the few hundreds and rarely are for sale, from what I have seen online. If you go to the Pyramid Gallery link there is a video with a person who had a real Lemarchand box. The owner was eager to offer $1000 for it.
Unless you think the whole affair was a set up I do believe such a man existed.
I believe that Clive Barker used Lemarchand to write his books. He didn’t invent Lemarchand, he borrowed what was written about him to put in his novels.Well, I think it's fictional because It's all from a Clive Barker novel called The Hellbound Heart.
The Hellbound Heart - Wikipedia A prequel series to Hellraiser. Which is a damn good novel well worth a read to any Hellraiser fan.
I mean, It's whatever through right? People can believe in anything they want too, It's 2018. I'm thinking about reassigning my identity as a Gundam Wing.
So, Yeah.
It's cool to believe in this guy, no one said it wasn't.
I mean, The thing is, The Book is labeled as a work of Gothic horror Fiction, At the Wiki, It even says the puzzle boxes are fake and were derived from a fictional source, That source was the Work of fiction, From Clive Barker called the hellbound heart.I believe that Clive Barker used Lemarchand to write his books. I guess we must agree to disagree on this one.I mean, The thing is, The Book is labeled as a work of Gothic horror Fiction, At the Wiki, It even says the puzzle boxes are fake and were derived from a fictional source, That source was the Work of fiction, From Clive Barker called the hellbound heart.
I mean, Look I know we need new stories here. And I'm not shitting all over this one, It's a neat one, I wish it were true, It just isn't, The problem is If I can source this in five minutes anyone can.
Someone was going to say these very things eventually. It just happened to be me is all.
Oh that's perfectly fine, I'm not trying to dominate a thread or anything, You have your side, I have mine.I guess we must agree to disagree on this one.
