I think he is the most grounded in reality then we have ever had with a Pope. I'm not even religious in the slightest but hes a good man.

If that's the case he is saying very unfounded statements like this...

How can you say we are not on the brink on nuclear war? If you ask me we have been on the brink of nuclear war ever since the bombs were dropped on Japan and other countries started developing their own. All it takes is for one country to fire away and we would have all out nuclear war. The pope is exactly right, we are on the brink, and have been.

Pope is dead wrong, if we were in the heat of the cold war I'd say maybe yes but we are not and no one is seriously threatening anyone with nukes so no we are not on the brink of nuclear war, we haven't been for decades...

I would say the cold war has started up again. Cold War 2.0. Tensions with Russia are again at an all time high, they are making tech that bypasses NORAD. If Russia wanted to attack the US they could with relative ease.

Russia really isn't a country anymore to me,..it's more roughly like a conglomeration with the poor and middle class left to fend for themselves if not trapped in the cycle of every day life...

Russia never invested in a foundation, even through the Soviet era they were more interested in building the walls and the surveillance but ignored the foundation so they crumbled...

Even now the conglomerates are more interested in shiny new toys and hacking everyone else whilst still laying in the mud because they simply won't build a foundation for themselves...

I'm afraid the US will follow the same path.

Russia is just a conglomeration of disaffected states. Maybe the USA will go this way no empire last forever. Rome took 400 years to fall but it did fall.
