The newly formed island off the coast of North Carolina was named Shelly due to the high number of shells found on it. Strange objects that can't currently be identified have been found.

Now another strange object has made an appearance on the island and this time it has not only baffled the local beach-goers but also historians. The object in question was found by the Hoffman family who was visiting from Virginia. The son-in-law Dan found the weird object and his mother in law told him that it was perhaps treasured from a shipwreck off the Outer Banks. She went on to say that whatever the object is, it is old and has been in the ocean for some time. The Hoffman family contact Jami Lanier, a local historian at the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, but Lanier was not able to identify the mystery object. Lanier said that it is difficult to tell what it is as there is plenty of encrustation, but it could be some instrument used on a watercraft. Now Lanier is going to ask marine archaeologists if they can help to determine what the object is. Many strange and mysterious objects have been found recently on beaches. Someone found a starfish that was made of a strange metal just off Rhode Island and someone else READ MORE: Strange Objects Are Washing Up On North Carolina's Mysterious New Island – Disclose.tv

That one object looks like it has gold in it maybe it is some kind of over sized circuit breaker fuse? Who really know what ancient technology lays under the sea.

Yes...naturally anything odd that washes up somewhere must be alien.....couldn't possibly be old human shipwreck debris.

I read this report the other day from a different source than posted and they think all the various objects are from shipwrecks which are all around that area...

Looks like it could be some sort of old shipwreck debris....whatever it is it had been underwater long before it was buried. Then it could also be artifacts from a long past coastal settlement.

The open topped object appears to be some sort of storage vessel....which is also heavily encrusted.

They do not look "mysterious" to me.

I'm sure people have figured out what they are by now......at least the formation of the island isn't the source of the mystery.

There are over 500 recorded shipwrecks off the coast of the North Carolina Outer Banks alone. Even Spanish Galleons would sometimes venture as far north as the Mid Atlantic. Also, the Outer Banks is where the North and South Atlantic currents meet, so just about anything imaginable could wash up there.

Very true......wouldn't surprise me if it was part of a Spanish ship......it was underwater for a long time.
