in light of recent developments maybe Vallee's just hedging his bets.

It isn't physically possible, it is not about physical anything, at least as far as I can tell, it seems to be in the realm of consciousness,
Once we can create a teleporter that actually transfers our atoms from one place to another, then we could start exploring teleporting to other dimensions/realms/alternate worlds etc.
I didn't say it isn't physically possible to do anything, I said that the experiences that are not physical, don't have a physical element have nothing to do with what is "physically possible" until we learn more. We don't know. I am sorry to confuse you, but when you talk about what one here called "anti-physical" then you can't wonder how it is "physically possible" can you? These two statements seem to conflict with one another, if its not physically possible to traverse from one dimension to another how could we teleport physical atoms to another dimension?...

I have read all of Vallee's books on UFOs except the latest one. In the context of this thread, I have to say that arguments against possible interdimensional travel all depend upon our current physical knowledge, and if the assumption is that our present knowledge is going to stand for all time, and that nobody in 100 or 1000 years will be able to improve on it or even change it beyond recognition, then I think that assumption is totally wrong. Vallee, and maybe Keel, were for a long time the only UFO researchers considering this hypothesis, but I think it could explain a lot of the more puzzling cases. If there exist entities in other dimensions, or parallel universes, or whatever poor analogy we can comprehend, then they may well have the capacity to travel to ours.
Incidentally, if our current physical theories are all going to remain true for all time, then physicists may as well pack up their jobs and seek alternative employment.
We are a primitive barbaric species
As compared to what? Have we really, really met any non-terrestrial species and had that long talk? It's just us doing what we do, as evolution made us up until now.
I think you answered your own quesion in that until we learn more about the nature of reality and Quantum physics it might be easier to slip into another dimension than travel 1,000 light years to get here........It would seem to be that it would take far less effort and energy for an intelligent species residing in a neighboring star system to travel here to observe us than it would be for an interdimensional species to cross dimensions to observe us...That also raises a question, how could an interdimensonal species find us to begin with?...I could see how and why aliens from a local star system could find out about our existence but from another dimension?...These could be a rhetorical questions because of our lack of understanding of the bigger picture...

Good quote at the end. The Book of the Book? Hard not to agree that there is something quite frightening about human beings, the constant urge to wage war on each other and act in a barbaric and sadistic way. If we look at other species, they may well compete with each other for food and habitat, but -- aside, I think, from chimpanzees -- they don't attempt to totally destroy each other utterly. In the early days of ufology there was much speculation that UFOs appeared in numbers only after we had developed nuclear weapons, and might consider us a potential threat. On the other hand, many sightings from that period -- and especially alleged crashes -- could have been accidents in black projects testing out some of the Nazi technology acquired after the war. Always many theories. If they are really advanced they probably understand us a lot better than we do ourselves..I don't think comparisons need to be made imo, to me its fairly obvious through self-observations as a species...In some aspects we are doing more harm to ourselves than other less intelligent species does to their own kind on this planet...If we can see the barbarism within our own species then I would hazard to surmise that far more intelligent species observing us would come to a similar conclusions or they may see things about ourselves that remain hidden from our own observations of ourselves no matter if good or bad things...

As far as finding dimensions if parallel worlds are 'stacked' like some have theorized they could literally be next door and it would be like simply walking through to see what's next door...no searching required.... and this could explain the variety of alien lifeforms and craft also....without needing to resort to long distance travel from multiple species.
I've read almost all of the works of Idries Shah, the knowledge contained in his books is priceless, he's a remarkable man...Good quote at the end. The Book of the Book?
In the early days of ufology there was much speculation that UFOs appeared in numbers only after we had developed nuclear weapons, and might consider us a potential threat.
Those are all valid questions but my point was that the parallel worlds are stacked..so that when you walk through the portal you are simply on another earth.....more or less the same but with different aspects in that universe. Sort of like the Atavachron in that old Star Trek episode. But it's also posssible one could dial in alternate protals so to speak...the possibilities are endless. The searching comes in when attempting to find our world, earth...Let's say some particular species opens up a dimensional portal to our universe, to what spacial coordinates?...Are they opening up a portal from their world to another world in our universe or are they opening up portals in space?...If either are true then they would have to travel from that portal's location to our world and if they are in a parallel earth, then what accounts for the various species allegedly visiting here?...Are they sharing their information about us with other species in their dimension and revealing our location to others as well?...Are they just visiting our world in this dimension we live in or are there other worlds in our galaxy that are begin visited regularly as well?...
I know, some of these questions are for the most part rhetorical since it's unlikely we will have the answers anytime soon lol...

I think this , and other reasons, is why Dr Vallee found the ETH to be lacking in explaining many aspects of the ufo enigma.
I've read almost all of the works of Idries Shah, the knowledge contained in his books is priceless, he's a remarkable man...
I think it's possible our nuclear weapons had an affect we are unaware of and hence the possible reason for the heightened numbers of ufos and strange contact reports...Its possible our nukes could be affecting other dimensions in close proximity to our own, kind of like sending a shockwave across dimensions and this could have been like shooting up a flare...We could have gave out our location inadvertently to others in other dimensions because of detonating nuclear devices...
