We had a day and a half worth of solid rain. The lawn looked uneven so I got out early to mow. Good thing I did it this morning. We are looking at another weeks worth of mid nineties temperatures. The local cornfields look good though!

Looked at NEC volume fill. Four #10 AWG THHN + three #12 AWG THHN should fit nicely in a 3/4" PVC conduit. That puts it at 26%, well below the max 40%. I added the extra wire because it actually simplifies the install by putting a surface mount box outside which will also give me an outdoor GFCI and a permanent 20 amp circuit down in the shed, plus maybe a light. I never needed it really but now's the time.

Debating a permit. I know the electric is on the money, just deciding if I should open a permit and begin the annoying clown show or just roll the dice and see if I even have to deal with them at all years later when we sell the house. If I thought it would be simple and get a real inspection in the process I wouldn't even hesitate to open a permit but my experience with them locally has soured me on all that.

Debating a permit

As incredibly fascinating as this is to everyone......
Debated it, going to knuckle under. Kiss the ring. Bend the knee. Take it from The Man, man.
Inside my house, screw them.

But outside is a different matter. For a single run down there infrequently used then I wouldn't worry about it. It's close to a 100' run down there and I had to upsize the wires accordingly and now there's going to be a small linear copper mine buried. Plus, now there's going to be conduit and a box plainly visible and not original for all to see. No plausible deniability there.

A friend hooked up an actual transfer panel to his house a few years ago and made quite a complicated pile of it. Those things start around $300. More heavily wired than the Kennedy Space Administration. The one day The Finger of God came down during a bad storm and lightning took out several transformers on poles and for whatever reason decided his house was especially attractive and slagged the main panel, transfer panel and most of the wiring. Smoked, as in fire. The house survived that one, but not to worry he and his wife found a different way to totally destroy that poor house later.

So I erred on the side of caution hoping to avoid a problem later and be able to call my insurance company in the hopefully unlikely event I have to.

Glad you asked! Mask were required inside. Since we had 7 people we got a private party room. We got a small signal device so when they had food and drinks we could grab it. Socal distance was enforced on the game room floor by having half the games shut down. The bar was all but shut down as you placed an order via a tablet. It was nowhere near as fun as normal.

Just did everything i needed to do this morning, patent form, medical form, paid the fees, had my vitual dr call, took the photo for my card, now the wait. 2 weeks i think if all is ok. One more trip my reg dude to get me through till than. maybe i can get rid of the belt.LOL

If Christopher Robbins can't produce the 'hunny' he might be in deep s**t, wouldn't he ?

If I were the Ranger I wouldn't be breaking bear balls over a few pic-in-ic baskets or they would likely crack his bones and suck the marrow, consume his cartoon flesh and poop it out later.

I've been working in my building last few days reframing the upstairs Loft, adding in more 2 x 6 lumber so I can put a little more weight upstairs... I've got one half of the building completed, took me a day longer than I expected to do just half of it because there were some 2 x 4s I wanted to remove but keep intact for another purpose, whoever framed this building originally nailed the shyte out of it...I spend half a day just removing nails...

Since I've spent most all my morning and part of the afternoon online and here on AE it should be obvious I'm taking a break from this project today lol...A day of rest from physical work, although with all the rain we've been getting the grass needs to be mowed and I've mowed wet grass numerous times before so might do that much later this afternoon if there's a long break on the rain later today...Probably won't do that though although I'm thinking about it lol, I'll probably save it for tomorrow...

Three ripe watermelon and the yard has been mowed, the grass was so wet took me twice as long to mow it but I had to, it was too tall from all this rain we've been getting... I have one watermelon in the refrigerator and gave one to my mother and gave one to my neighbor...
