I have acrophobia (fear of heights). Earlier at work (storage) I had to go the 2nd floor of the building to open a small fence so that another guy can bring down some stuff with a truck. With the fence opened, one can walk down and fall. I opened it, looked down and that feeling has completely overcome me, I backed down and grabbed something to feel safe...and it was only 4 meters high. I always had problems with heights but now I'm really sick of it and I'm not sure how to fight it.
Are there any good advices to kill this fear? But I admit, having acrophobia sure does a damn good job keeping me safe from falling from anywhere. It is also a good thing...
I can actually see that working, maybe it has to do something with not sensing the ground below you when sky diving. It will either be a success or fail terribly...not planning to try it just yet though.A lot of people claim sky diving will help you overcome a fear of heights. I've never tried it. I think it makes more sense to be afraid of heights than to die of a heart attack by jumping out of a plane.
You said it yourself "dis-ease". Anything that doesn't come easy means you are gaining strength.
