Japanese Nabi Tajima passed away at age 117. There are 36 people in the world 110 & over with 18 of them being Japanese. They attribute the longevity to good diets and family support structure.
The world’s oldest person died at 117. She was the last known person born in the 19th century.

What's sad is all the stories in the news these days about the worldwide obesity epidemic. There are now a lot of children in the US who probably will not live past 50 due to the complications of obesity and all the health issues it causes.
