After clicking on "See Christopher Wolford's other tweets", if I had to bet your lunch money (I'm sure as hell not betting mine!), I'd say the reality would be more like:
"It's a long story with much bullshit and credulity."
He apparently believes Lazar's bullshit. But then I'm one of those jaded old timers he keeps telling to STFU. Yeah, no red flags there.
I like Elizondo, and think he's doing a good job under some pretty regrettable conditions. An interesting thought experiment goes like this: Say for a moment that everything Elizondo says is true. Everything he claims to have done at DoD or wherever is as close to the facts as it could be, given human memory and so on. He is not lying or crazy or making things up. What's it like to be him these days? You've got every sort of critic, whackadoodle, self-proclaimed rationalist savior, crackpot blogger, political hack, whatever kind of nutjob you care to mention, claiming he's full of shit, he never had that job, the program never existed, on and on ad nauseam. Everything from seemingly legitimate questions from those who can't be arsed to do five minutes of actual research, to the full on ludicrous nonsense that's pumped out onto social media in vast quantities every second of every day.
I do not envy him his present situation.
