'White' federal workers would no longer include Middle Eastern, North African heritage under new Biden plan

The Biden administration is proposing a change to the way it collects data on federal workers that would allow employees to identify themselves as of Middle Eastern or North African descent, instead of identifying themselves as "White."

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on Thursday announced a series of proposed changes to the race/ethnicity data that it has kept since 1977. The OMB said changes are warranted because people’s preferences relating to how they identify themselves have changed.

The OMB said in its proposal that there have been "large societal, political, economic, and demographic shifts in the United States throughout this period," citing the following examples: increasing racial and ethnic diversity; a growing number of people who identify as more than one race or ethnicity; and changing immigration and migration patterns.

One of those changes would affect current language that requires people to identify themselves as "White" if they have "origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East, or North Africa." But the OMB’s proposed change said many are requesting a new category separate from White people of European descent.

"Presenters advocated for the Middle Eastern or North African (MENA) population to be recognized and respected by becoming a new and distinct minimum reporting category because, for example, many in the MENA community do not share the same lived experience as White people with European ancestry, do not identify as White, and are not perceived as White by others," the OMB’s proposal said.

The OMB also said a new "MENA" category would "recognize this community."

The goal of the government’s data collection effort is to "ensure the comparability of race and ethnicity across Federal datasets and to maximize the quality of that data by ensuring that the format, language, and procedures for collecting the data are consistent and based on rigorous evidence."

The OMB proposed other changes to the way the data is collected and presented, including by seeking out race and ethnicity information in a single question. It said many people confuse the two terms and proposed a question that asks for federal workers’ "race or ethnicity."

The OMB proposed several other wording changes, such as replacing "Far East" with "East Asian" from the definition of "Asian," and ending use of the terms "majority" and "minority."

The OMB said those last two terms "may be perceived by some as pejorative and not inclusive." The proposal is not final, and the OMB is seeking public input on these ideas through mid-April.

What transparency...?

FBI ALSO searched the Penn Biden Center in November after President's lawyers found 10 classified documents: MORE damning revelations emerge despite White House claims of transparency

Investigators from the FBI searched the office that President Biden used to maintain at a DC think tank – days after his own lawyer identified classified material there, it was revealed Tuesday.

The White House and the Justice Department did not disclose the search, which was reported by CBS News, despite the White House's claim of 'transparency' over the rolling discoveries of classified material.

It was not immediately known if any additional documents marked classified were uncovered during the search, which took place in mid-November.

On November 2, days before the mid-term elections, a Biden attorney discovered 10 documents marked 'classified,' then contacted the National Archives, which alerted the Justice Department. It comes as the Biden Administration is facing new pressure from Democrats to disclose the contents of classified material found at Biden's home and office.

Biden's Justice Department changes presidential pardons for the worse

The Biden administration has spent the last two years reversing almost every decision, executive order, or regulation put in his place by Donald Trump.

This comes as no surprise on issues that largely break along partisan lines, such as climate change, gender identity and immigration. Elections have consequences, after all. But the Biden team has now taken their crusade to erase Trump’s legacy to absurd lengths, going so far as to nullify one of Trump’s clemency decisions.

Nowhere do presidents have more authority than when granting pardons and commuting prison sentences. Presidents turn to the clemency process to right a prosecutorial wrong, as President Trump did in the case of Philip Esformes. Now, the Department of Justice is trying to undo his clemency.

What ELSE are they hiding? National Archives was BLOCKED from releasing statement on classified documents found at Biden's think tank in November, top Republican reveals - as White House claims of transparency are blown out of water

The National Archives was prevented from notifying the public that classified documents were found at President Joe Biden's think tank back in November, raising questions over who stopped the information from coming out. Oversight and Reform Committee Chairman James Comer raised the question Tuesday night, claiming the only two entities that could give the order to the Archives are the White House and the Department of Justice - putting the onus on either Biden or Attorney General Merrick Garland. Documents with classified markings were found at Biden's Washington, D.C. think tank just days before the 2022 midterm elections.

FBI searches President Biden's $2.7M beach home in Rehoboth for more classified docs as White House is accused of COVER-UP

Federal agents are searching Joe Biden's Rehoboth beach house for classified documents, the president's attorney said on Wednesday. Biden is cooperating with the search, his attorney Bob Bauer said. 'Today, with the President's full support and cooperation, the DOJ is conducting a planned search of his home in Rehoboth, Delaware. Under DOJ's standard procedures, in the interests of operational security and integrity, it sought to do this work without advance public notice, and we agreed to cooperate,' Bauer said in a statement.

Hunter Biden FINALLY admits infamous laptop is HIS as he sends letters to prosecutors demanding investigations into Trump allies Steve Bannon and Rudy Giuliani for peddling hard drive to media

Hunter Biden is going on the offense with his lawyers now asking the Justice Department to investigate former President Donald Trump's allies, who peddled his laptop's hard drive to media outlets in the run-up to the 2020 election.

The first son's lawyer Abbe Lowell asked the DOJ to probe former Trump strategist Steve Bannon, campaign lawyer and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Giuliani's lawyer and the owner of the Wilmington computer repair shop, John Paul Mac Isaac, who obtained the laptop in April 2019.

Using passages from Mac Isaac's book, American Injustice: My Battle to Expose the Truth, Lowell notes that Mac Isaac sent a copy of the laptop data to Giuliani's lawyer Robert Costello who turned it over to the ex-mayor, who at the time was pushing discredited theories about the younger Biden.

From there, Giuliani pitched the laptop story to a reporter at the New York Post - which broke the story about the laptop in October 2020 - and to Bannon, the letter said.

Hunter Biden never consented to having his personal information shared, Lowell argued.

Republican councilwoman, 30, is gunned down behind the wheel of her SUV outside her home: New Jersey mother was shot multiple times in 'targeted' attack while driving

A New Jersey Councilwoman has been gunned down outside of her home and police say she was the 'intended target' of the shooting.

Eunice Dwumfour, 30, was found dead in her white Nissan SUV after it crashed near her home on Point of Wood Drive in New Jersey.

The Republican mother-of-one was found with multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses claim that the suspected gunman was spotted racing away from the Camelot at La Mer apartment complex, and a 911 call was placed at 7.22pm.

Authorities say that the councilwoman, who worked for a Nigerian-based church group, was the intended target – but have not given a motive.

Her white SUV was seen being removed from the scene by authorities in the early hours of the morning.

She ousted the sitting Democrat in the Borough of Sayreville in November 2021, in a shock election win, and was not up for reelection until 2024.

Democrats admit they've lost hope in Kamala Harris: 'Can't think of one thing she's done'

Some Democrats are leaking their disdain for Vice President Kamala Harris to the press, with a few political bigwigs arguing openly that Harris is a major liability for 2024.

Harris is struggling to "define her vice presidency. Even her allies are tired of waiting," The New York Times headlined in an article Monday.

That's because one of the few issues that some Democrats are in agreement on — whether they're allies of the vice president or not — is that she is a disappointment, at best, the Times reported.

White House press secretary fumbles question on other Chinese surveillance flights during Biden admin

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Monday appeared to fumble when asked whether there have been other Chinese surveillance missions flown over the United States during Biden’s presidency.

A reporter asked Jean-Pierre whether the Chinese balloon, carrying sensors and surveillance equipment, was the first one identified flying over U.S. airspace under the Biden administration.

Jean-Pierre did not answer the question directly, saying "Chinese surveillance balloons have been around for some time" and "we even briefed Congress this past August."

"So, don’t have anything more to say or to share," Jean-Pierre said.

The reporter questioned how it was possible Chinese spy balloons traveled over the continental U.S. – at least three times – during the Trump administration but were not discovered until after Trump left office.

Jean-Pierre seemed to fumble her words and, again, didn’t answer directly.

"But again, we are ready to brief key officials to let them know … what the intelligence community was able to figure out," Jean-Pierre said.

She refused to share details of discussions with the intelligence community. The reporter questioned whether U.S. officials have had conversations with the Chinese about balloons over U.S. airspace during this administration.

"We’re not going to get into specifics of private diplomatic conversations we have with China. We’re just not going to do that from here," Jean-Pierre said. "We’ve been very clear that what China did was indeed a violation of international law."

Fox News Digital has reached out to the White House for clarification on Jean-Pierre’s remarks.
