Guys I attached the advertising rates pages at the bottom of the last message but not sure if others can see them. Here they are just in case I made an error:

I don't remember if I mentioned this here, I think I did though; in February/March of 2010, he wanted over a thousand dollars for...I can't remember if I wanted ads for two months or three on the Paracast.

I can honestly say I don't think his rates have changed much in eight years.

Gene responds (and seemingly has - temporarily, I'm sure - unbanned the guy):

Gene: Fighting with people you feel are "trolling" you isn't helping you. It isn't helping anything. Dude you have real problems. Shit like someone asking you about Patreon and telling you that you don't have any legal case against truth tellers is NOT the source of any of your problems. You're attacking symptoms and outcomes that are stemming from your own actions.

Furthermore, you say: "I'll answer you just once. It's not about public records, but digging up public records, including those of a a deceased relative, and putting false spins on them that's the real problem." False spins? Your deceased relative pled guilty buddy. Read the PDFs since you claim you weren't familiar with the details. Steve Beizer's behavior was genuinely sickening, and you supported him. You're still supporting him. Stop blaming others. Come clean if you want people to help you with financial support.

And "digging up public records"? Really? Gene you sound like Donald Trump.

Funny, a literal two second Google search turns up a LOT of responses to "Steve Berman California Bar Association".

Do your RESEARCH, Gene-O!

I will be shocked if Gene lets this stand - that thread and those posts. Glad it's documented here, fwiw.

I've also screenshotted it. He often responds to posts initially and leaves them up for a few hours, only for them to magically disappear with him saying that it was a troll. Doesn't matter how polite people are or how much they are trying to help him. I also like how he is acting like nobody has suggested Patreon to him before and he will really check it out. It has been pointed out to him for years.

Also this is not the guy who asked about Patreon and got IP banned earlier that was talking about it on twitter.

I think this is that guy:

I didn't see the original message though.

To be fair, there's got to be podcasts out there that the exposure would be worth that kind of money. LPOTL, for example. Or My Favorite Murder. Pod Save America, maybe.

But the Paracast?

NOW?

Shyeah, right.

I have said before I know, but I think his issues with Patreon are the degrees of transparency and accountability associated with it. That and, Patreon takes a cut of the money

Gene wants his podcasts to be a black box he operates, and for you to please use the Friends and Family option when sending him a 'donation' via PayPal.

I'm stunned he really thinks he has a defamation case. That just seems monumentally clueless to me.

He's still fuming about the flowers sent to a woman at the rental office of his last apartment. "Malicious intent" he calls it. They were sent AFTER he had proclaimed the rental office proclaimed they couldn't undo the eviction, and were sent as an apology for the woman there having to deal with Gene, who sent out her name and the leasing company name in one of his begging emails.

But of course, Gene is always the victim.

Also Ghost I thought it was the same guy as both are in Oakland, CA and asking about Patreon in the same timeframe but, apologies if I got it wrong and misled.

Yeah, he probably missed his chance, to be fair. And I don't think he could've ever seen Last Podcast on the Left level dollars, unless he had managed to keep Mr. Biedny around, perhaps.

Seriah (Where Did the Road Go? podcast) is at $737/month on Patreon currently; that may not be out of reach for Gene even now.

Well. It might be though. I plan to back Seriah (I already back another podcast and two cartoonists) but I would never back Gene. Of course I'm only one person.

Me too but they are different guys. The first guy got insta-banned. I think the confusion is because they asked similar questions.

LOL. Digging up records of a deceased relative (who happened to go to jail for scamming people, I might add.) Terms of Service has long meant deleting posts that criticize Gene Steinberg in any way. Steinberg always falls back on terms like defamation like that is supposed to scare people away.

Try going into a lawyer’s office and tell him or her you wish to sue someone, but wait, I only have some change in my pocket to pay you. Right, I want to take on that case. Any lawyer looking up Steinberg’s stellar financial record will jump at the chance to defend Steinberg. Please! Don’t be so idiotic. He always avoids answering when someone brings up Patreon. Steinberg likes his cash without any go between.

This is a lot of blowing hot air at his critics.

Imaginary Lawyer: "Oh my gosh Gene! You are telling me that people online are putting a false spin on public records for your deceased relative? Well that sounds terrible! What are those vicious trolls saying?"

Imaginary Gene: "That the deceased robbed hundreds of thousands of dollars from elderly women! And then used the money for things like a vacation to Hawaii for himself. And that he tricked one into buying a condo he claimed he could sell for her immediately at a profit, when in fact he went on to live there rent free for months, obstructing the sale. And that I tried to raise money he owed these women for restitution by making deceptive statements! Even that I got my son to do the same!"

Imaginary Lawyer: "That's awful! And the deceased didn't actually do any of those things, right? And you didn't either, correct?"

Imaginary Gene: ".... The point is that they're a bunch of trolls! Malicious trolls!"

Imaginary Lawyer: "You mentioned public records, I assume those are court documents then. What did the deceased plead, by the way?"

Imaginary Gene: "Can I get my settlement now? I'll take that pro bono, please."

Hey everyone I'm the guy who was IP banned from the paracast forum for asking about Patreon. I just wanted to let you all know that I was not the person who is currently taking up the issue in there right now. My guess is someone saw my tweet about it and decided to run with it.

I came about this issue somewhat randomly after I was accidentally tagged in a tweet about it months ago. While I was familiar with Gene and even receive his years of emails, I sort of just assumed it was a poor dude trying to get by in a screwed up world. Once I was tagged however, it became clear something more nefarious was going on and I was full in on this situation.

I take scam artists seriously and Gene appears to have been involved, at least party to, a dangerous scheme. The damage conmen like Gene and his BIL do is dangerous and impacts far beyond someone's bank account. My grandmother was a victim of a person selling fake securities and lost literally $200,000 in the early 1990s. While the person was caught and charged she never recouped the losses and I truly believe it shortened her life considerably.

I like this forum and will probably stick around, hopefully meet some people that will help me make sense of some anomalous stuff that I've experienced. Keep digging and trust me, shedding light on people like Gene is not trolling — it's a damn public service.

Apologies, I thought you were the same person.

Thanks for coming over here!

I can't stand thieves and what I read of the Steve Beizer court documents still have me seeing red. The guy appears to have been a moral black hole.

There was also this one guy on the SchemeGeneRC mentions a bit ago that went photoshop crazy with those pics when they were posted. A lot were sort of lame but a few were funny. Here are the greatest hits.Gene funny 3.jpgGene funny 2.jpgGene Funny.jpg
