I don't understand, why is age and colonoscopy related?...Isn't that a bit like expecting something wrong?...I don't like going for tests or check ups, I rarely see a doctor, in fact I haven't for quite some time and I'm 55 years old...

Because I guess that's when your ass pipes go out of warranty.
My wife's father dropped dead of colon cancer at age 60 after a few years of obvious warning signs.
I got mine at 50 and my doctor said do another at 60.
