WELL..... if Earth evolution is solely responsible for what developes from ooooze ..... maybe there is a certain kind of sequence that life must follow?
Thats just one perspective... but we have little else to compare...
Descriptions of mantis type aliens seems to fit the profile likeness of praying mantis insects here on earth although the aliens are much larger...
...
Modern evolutionary theories state that "Life forms are modeled by active environments".
Basically, what that means is that living beings are molded by physics. For example, most creatures move forward, so it makes sense that they develop eyes on the front of their bodies, not on the back. The most stable form is one of a table with 4 legs, so no wander that most land animals are quadruped. Etc. etc.
With few odd exceptions, most animals follow pretty standardized body forms. Because laws of physics are the same everywhere in universe it makes sense that life forms will be similar.
Well if the Universe(s) were God created wouldn't we all on all the habitable worlds look like us. I mean created in Gods image ? Why would he make a Tarantula alien ?
Why would he make a tarantula at all?
Yes, I guess all these creepy crawlies were here before we got invented.
Including black widow spiders, accursed little devils, I will crush the life out of every one of them that crosses my path for the rest of my life, no mercy...

I like the zoo hypothesis. Aliens brought critters from all over and dropped them here in a survival of the fittest experiment. An experiment in evolution pressures.
So, Tarantulas, as well as humans, did not originate here. We are all aliens.
Whatever survives mankind will win,
You know people made that story up don't you? Man in "God's" image is a myth and I probably seem to be disrespecting your beliefs, but I just want to point out that the "image" could refer to things that have nothing to do with our physical make up, it could be spiritual, or mental or something so intangible we don't even think about it. Another thing that bugs me is that people are often misquoting a translation of a translation of a translation, some changes are made purposely and some from ignorance because too much time has passed for the translator to understand the real meaning of a word in a text that is thousands of years old.Well if the Universe(s) were God created wouldn't we all on all the habitable worlds look like us. There was an article years ago I posted on another forum about a scientist that proposed the idea that intelligent humanoid lifeforms may be prevalent in the universe and explained why. Which i could find it.That seems idiotic to claim that aliens will look like earth animals. If we believe any of the stories about encounters with extraterrestrials, that is just the opposite.

So, using "God" as your yardstick for this topic is just as useless as using Darwin's theories or the original article in the OP in my opinion.
