Fratty and out of touch.
Here in the US we just had Columbus Day about two weeks ago. Traditionally it is the day we celebrate Christopher Columbus' discovery of North America. I have several friends on FB who are outraged because they say the holiday is racist and celebrates brutality.

Personally, I have Native American ancestors distantly on both sides of my family tree. The Europeans came and colonized and a lot of indigenous people died. This was all very horrible but we need to move on. Identity politics is destroying America.

I agree with the positive attention which has been paid to the indigenous cultures here in recent years. We should respect and value all cultures and I would not object if Columbus Day was eliminated as a holiday. That said, we need to stop being so ultra sensitive and focus more on getting along.

Its similar with Andrew Jackson being on the twenty dollar bill, I agree that people are way too ultra-sensitive and could use those energies to strengthen communities and add positive energy, nitpicking and complaining on every matter big and small serves to only divide...There are other ways to get things done and make positive change...
