The answer might not be what you think. The old car guy thinks that's a cigar lighter according to the factory codes, not a cigarette lighter. I might be wrong.

Anymore snow brushes look like articulated a Martian rover soil collection armature and they're $$$$$

A bargain @ $2.69 and it still works! We would just walk past it as being common as I have many times, except you just don't see them anymore do you?

Here's a clock radio from the 70s and 80s that I remember seeing when I was younger...I never had one of these personally though...

Actually, the auto parts store I frequent used to be a Crazy Eddie's. A local thing, I remember buying a VCR in this place back when.

I've worked on a lot of old PBXs, mostly Northern Telecom/Nortel. They went away some time ago but there are a very, very few old warhorses still in service. I was just talking to my friend who is about to retire and there is one antique mechanism still grinding away in a nearby hospital. It's a room filling bruiser of an old SL-1 NT (I think). Most of the service change dates in the thing are from 1988 when I did an upgrade on it. It's had some new stuff since but right now its sitting there in the dark humming and clicking and making dial tone and sucking up a lot of power. They make finally shut it off and if they do I told my buddy I'd meet him up there if they'd let me in, which they would. They don't really have OFF switches so somebody who knows how it works needs to render it safe.

See that IBM Selectric on the desk? Worth a few $$. I used to see them still in a lot of lawyer's offices because they still have a need. Go figure.

This thread is a good spot for this old tech. Nobody cares about 'land lines' anymore

Ahhhh - but yet another use for duct tape ......

As my wife and I were old Verizon employees, we have kept our land line over the years. Call it quaint or stupid. We can funnel calls we don’t wish to answer to that line. Yes the majority of our calls get funneled to our VZ smartphones. I still prefer calling people rather than texting. My high tech nephew thinks I am an old fart luddite for dialing him. Oh well!

As a crusty old Northern Telecom type I have an affinity for old phones with bells in them but keeping a land line just isn't an option here anymore. I don't even think Verizon has a galvo crew anymore its all outsourced. But the cable modem they provide supports dial pulse and my old phones don't realize Ma Bell is dead. There is some sort of filter I can apply but just never bothered.
